Looks like Taste of Thailand in Lower Mills is closed. Word on the street is that the rent went up.

30 Day Ethnic Food Challenge

Cape Verdean food...delicious. There are a couple of places in Boston. Try the traditional cachupa (corn dish) if you can.

Jacky's Table - not bad, but...

Interesting...I was there on Friday night and had a good experience. No loud music or crowd, very attentive staff, and the food was good. I will definately be back, but thanks for the heads up - I will avoid Saturdays.

Bread and Chocolate Cafe, Newton

The cupcakes are a bit pricey and on the small side, BUT tasty. The coconut lemon and the banana caramel (which for some reason they don't have regularly) are awesome!

What's decent to order at Elephant Walk?

If you like beef, the Loc Lac is awesome!

Summer 2009 openings and closings

Milton/Lower Mills is getting a restaurant boost...Abbey Park is opening in East Milton Square soon and the website says it will be Contemporary American. Also looks like there is a new restaurant coming on Dot Ave. a few doors down from Common Ground.

Best Cupcakes, for sure!

No mention of Bread & Chocolate in Newton. The cupcakes range from basic - vanilla or chocolate to the more interesting - banana caramel (seasonal); coconut lemon; boston cream pie, etc.
Very tasty cupcakes!

What restaurants don't we talk about enough?

Here are a few that come to mind...
Savant Project - Mission Hill
Casa De Pedro - Watertown
Ashmont Grill - Dorchester
Quince - Needham

Four Couples Dinner Help

Depending on what kind of food you all are in the mood for... Orinoco right in Brookline Village is pretty good for Venezuelan (I think), as is Pomodoro for Italian. The Elephant Walk further down on Route 9/Boylston for Cambodian/French.
The Met on Route 9 is a good steakhouse and I agree that Sel de la Terre is always an option.
And if you and the other couples want to venture to Needham, the new Petit Robert doesn't lack street parking.

Not to Misses in Dedham

Isabella's is pretty tasty. If you are looking for a nice ambiance - Vintage is pretty good (and right on Route 1). My last trip was for brunch and I would recommend it.
