Knoxville - One Birthday Dinner (for 2) and One Brunch Rec Please!
Thanks, shallots! I love any and all seafood!
After some research I am actually thinking King Tut's for dinner that night. I love mediterranean/Greek food, and it definitely sounds unique. Any thoughts???
Knoxville - One Birthday Dinner (for 2) and One Brunch Rec Please!
Hi!
My husband and I will be in Knoxville for the first time on Friday 11/11 for my birthday dinner and for breakfast/brunch the next morning. Recs please? Anywhere within a 30 minute drive is just fine. I am a pescatarian but not picky otherwise.
Thanks!!
Late Night Dining in Asheville
Last thread, I promise...
We are finally en route to Asheville, but we probably won't arrive earlier than 11 pm.
Where should we go for great food (veg-friendly) and drinks? I was thinking LAB, but I'm not sure what their "late night menu" is like.
Thanks again!
Favorite Asheville Coffee Spots?
Hi,
Thanks for all the great advice on my other threads! My husband, a former barista and total coffee snob (mean that in the best way possible) is curious what coffee shops we need to hit up while in Asheville this coming weekend.
Currently, we plan to hit up FireStorm Cafe (any vegan treats elsewhere?) and Dripolator. Others?
Thanks!
Pre-dinner Cocktails in Asheville?
Hi again,
We have reservations at The Admiral on Saturday at 9:30. Where should we go for pre-dinner drinks (beer and cocktails) and maybe a small bite?
Sante Wine Bar has been recommended, but we are not as into wine.
Thanks!

One Sunday Brunch in Asheville?
Thanks for all the help so far, CH!
We leave on Sunday 4/3 and would like to enjoy a late brunch before we go. Which of the following should we go with:
Early Girl
Tupelo Honey
Laughing Seed
Sunny Pointe
Also, as I mentioned in my other post, I am vegetarian, while my husband is not.
Thanks!

Must-Have Asheville Reservations?
Thanks, Jeff. We really like everything, but especially enjoy sleuthing out local, farmstead restaurants, ethnic, and hole in the wall type places. Plus, I am vegetarian-leaning-vegan.
Thanks!
Must-Have Asheville Reservations?
I meant to add that I do have a Friday night reservation at The Admiral. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Must-Have Asheville Reservations?
Hi,
My husband and I will be in Asheville for the first time from dinner April 1 - lunch April 3. I have read all the posts I can find, but I must say, I am a bit overwhelmed! It would seem that there is a lot of good food there!
So...what are the must-have reservations? Even better...what would be the ideal "meal itinerary" for 3 days in Asheville?
Thanks!
Stacy

Restaurant Recommendations for Alpharetta
The main place I like to eat in Alpharetta is PURE Taqueria. Delicious margaritas, ceviches, and a great take on a Torta Cubana. Enjoy!
Best Chef/ Tasting Menus in ATL
Masala,
thanks for posting. we have reservation tonight! will let you know!
Best Hot Dog in the ATL?
The ONLY thing that comes to mind is The Varsity. They make a pretty mean chili-cheese-slaw dog. But by mean, I mean greasy and calorie-laden. Best enjoyed with a FO (frosted orange).
Ramen or Chinese Noodle shops in Atlanta?
There was a great article about Umaifo just published on Blissful Glutton's blog.

DC - One Night Only - What's THE Restaurant?
Title pretty much sums it up. I'll have a car, so location isn't a concern. I want to eat where it's happening right now in DC. Help me, 'hounds!
Weekend in Atlanta - restaurant recommendations? (including Valentine's Day)
Three things come to mind:
I work right by where you are staying, and it is mostly large chain restaurants. However, there are two stellar places nearby:
Tomo Sushi - some of the best sushi around and you can't beat their bento prices and beauty for lunch; dinner is pricey but very high quality (they have a webpage, but are located on Cobb Pkwy.)
Muss & Turners - this place is amazing, it's like a very upscale deli with great beer/wine list, cheese counter, pastry counter, etc. It is SO good; there should be several stellar reviews on the Internet. They offer a larger menu at dinner, including an amazing Kobe burger with poblano. Just got rated in CL for best gourmet fries. (located on Cumberland Pkwy. about 5 minutes from where you are staying, and beside South City Kitchen, which is pretty good for upscale Southern)
Finally, and you'll have to drive a bit to get here, but it is so worth it (my hubby and I will be eating there tomorrow night for our anniversary)...Dynamic Dish. There is no other restaurant like it in town. It's all local, organic ingredients prepared in a way that brings their flavors out in amazing ways, and it is so amazing. They offer like 2 apps, 2 salads, and 2 or more entrees per day...so we usually order the whole menu! It is currently BYOB, which we love. It is downtown on Edgewood. You may want to call ahead and make reservations as the space is small and hours are a bit irregular.

Need Quick Buford Hwy. Help Please!
HI,
So we are having a last minute soiree tonight on a shoestring budget. My husband suggested that I go pick up some Chinese dumplings and Vietnamese rolls (drawing a blank on name) and maybe some bahn mi.
Where could I go that is cheap and yummy and could prepare a takeout order on the fly?
I am thinking Chef Liu's. What else?
Thanks!
Authentic Thai Dining/Groceries in ATL??
Hi,
We have an au pair moving in with us on Friday from Bangkok. We would love to make her a gift basket with some snacks from her home country as well as have a list of authentic restaurants for her to find home cooking. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

IN Austin - Need Taco Help Fast - for Dinner Tonight
Hi,
You all have been so helpful providing wonderful recs for our 5 days here in Austin. I almost feel like I have over-researched though. Even the 'best' places have negative feedback I am finding, which I am sure is normal.
Anyhow, where to go for the UNDISPUTABLY best tacos that is open for dinner (walked 2 miles to Habanero's last night to find it was a lunch place) and preferably that serves margaritas?
Thanks again,
Stacy
PS - We are considering Curra's.
Uchi Happy Hour?
Hi,
Does anyone know what days Uchi runs their Happy Hour? Sorry if this question is redundant. We are ususally late-eaters, so I am not really familiar with happy hour.

Must-Have Reservations?
Hi!
My husband and I will be in Austin for a long weekend in October. I already posted for general recs, but I would love to know if there are any not-to-miss places where a reservation is a must-have.
Thanks!

5 Days in Austin...HELP US PLAN!
Thanks for all the great advice...keep it coming!
No, we won't be renting a car, but we are totally open to getting to know the public transit system.
We love fine dining and dives alike, so thanks for the variety of suggestions!
5 Days in Austin...HELP US PLAN!
My husband and I are visiting Austin for the first time...to see if we want to move there! We have always lived in Atlanta and neither of us have even been to TX.
We are very excited. We are coming car-less and staying at the Hotel San Jose in the SoCo district.
We are true chowhounds with no limits in terms of cost or cuisine...we love it all.
If you were going to have just 5 days in Austin, where would you eat for each meal: breakfast, lunch, and dinner?
Thanks!
Stacy
**Also, I saw that it is Austin Restaurant Week. Are any of those restaurants reputable and worth visiting for prix fixe? I know in Atlanta, Restaurant Week is not all that great.
