Dessert near Vito's Pizza?
Now I wish I would've just taken the plunge!! NEXT TIME!! As for the cannolis, the brother(?) said they should be getting them in soon hopefully; they order the shells and make the filling there at Vito's. I'm really wanting to try both. So much to order, so little time (We are moving at the end of this month :"( )

My husband LOVES the meatballs on the Garibaldi pizza, and they use the same in their other meatball dishes, so he said he's doing something with meatballs next time!!

Vito's actually has dessert, if you don't want to go somewhere else after dinner. I was there last night (amazing, as usual) and they said they have a to-die-for tiramisu right now. I was stuffed and we had to head out, otherwise I think we would've tried it. Anyways, hope this helps! If it were me, I'd stay at Vito's for the dessert to just enjoy the family and watch Vito do his magic.

Steakhouse in LA - Price *is* an object
Someone recommended Taylor's to me when I had a similar request, and it turned out to be pretty good. We went to the one in Koreatown. Since then, we've also been to Nick & Stef's downtown. It was really good and I liked the location/ambience a bit better than Taylor's. Nick & Stef's isn't cheap, but I think you'll be able to handle it; the only quality cheap steak you can get is probably one you'll have to make yourself. Pete's Cafe downtown LA has good fries; you can get plain crispy shoestrings or fries with different topings, e.g. cheese and bacon, blue cheese, chipotle seasoning, etc.

There is a big difference in being "suit-worthy" and being over the top in the price category, so it might be in your best interest if you specified if money is no object or if you just want to look nice at a reasonable restaurant.

As far as I know, L'Angelo is actually not downtown where you think it is; I'm pretty sure it's on Melrose (Melrose & Highland?). Could you be thinking of Angelique Cafe on Main/Spring between 8th and 9th?

Downtown LA Recommendations
If you don't mind walking a bit (and if the weather is nice), going to Grand Central Market is a really fun adventure. You can get great Mexican food (sopas, burritos, tortas,etc), as well as kebabs and other things. I too like Fiore better than Pinkberry. They have a blackberry yogurt now and it is fabulous....I was thinking next time I went I'd like to see if they'd give me the blackberry and green tea!
The Original Pantry
I usually do not choose French Toast when I am out for breakfast, and I didn't when I went there a couple of months ago, but my husband did, and if we go back, I WILL. I was really impressed with the F.T.; they use sourdough bread which I think makes a huge difference. Also, I read here on one thread to order the salsa, and it was great with the eggs. They also have buckwheat pancakes, which I had never had before, so that was enjoyable.

If you're in OC, try Portillos (from Chicago). Famous for their dogs, and also have great italian beef.
