Yes you can eat at the bar. Also there are a few bar height dueces along the wall in the barroom. Service was good and the pastas were fantastic. Had a terrific green bean salad.

Agree with all of these suggestions. I have 2 teens and they like all of these places. My boys also really like going to Pastis and/or Balthazar.

This restaurant is very inconsistent. And the whole Danny Meyers "hospitality" is a bunch of shit. Sometimes they get it and sometimes they dont. But there is nothing special about the service at any of his restaurants. Not saying its bad but fine.

Love EMP. I think its unpretentiopus. I go in jeans all the time and eat at the bar. The bartenders are great. Ate at Bar Stuzzichini the other night and it was fantastic. Love Tabla too Ugh let us know how the night turned out.

Papaya King or Gray's Papaya...
They are all pretty good. I just go by what neighborhood I'm in and if I'm hungry. If I had to pick one it would be Papaya King b/c its closest to my apt!
