i've seen young children les halles on park ave and blue ribbon bakery. when we were at les halles, the child at the table next to us was provided with a coloring book and crayons.

for fish, i'm partial to mediterranean restaurants. pylos may be a good bet. ethos has attractive fresh fish, but the space in murray hill is quite cramped-i know there's a sister location now in midtown east, but i've not yet been.

i found the meat pies to be enjoyable. scratch cupcake cafe off of your list-it sucks, imho. beard papa makes a great cream puff.

sounds like you and "the lunch belle" had a bad break up. all jokes aside, you sure have quite a lot of negative things to say about a blog that you clearly keep up with (referencing quotes and minute details). after checking out the site for myself, it appears that "the lunch belle" has been published more than a handful of times. if it's good enough for the new york post, it's good enough for me. what i've read has been really entertaining and spot-on.

used to live in the area, but had never known about paul and jimmy's. i see on the menu that they have a homemade fettucine with bolognese sauce. sounds good, thanks.
