oh, my! That news is a little depressing, LilMsFoodie! How far away are any of these necessities that I mentioned? Do you live in the area? I'll check out the Surf Club when we get there!

FT MYERS BEACH: here's my laundry list....bagels, pizza, Greek, Chinese take out, thai, Italian, Farmers market

I know that's a long list....we are driving to Ft Myers Beach next week... to go house hunting! I've decided that my new location needs certain accommodations ( all food related, of course) to remain in the running as my future "town that I love to live in"! I MUST have an excellent new york style pizza joint. Consistent & quick for those nights when nothing else will do. I also need real bagels! A little Italian hole in the wall would be a nice bonus. Oh, & a little slice of Greek paradise to break up the monotony. I like my thai restaurants to be a little nicer, I don't know why. Last but not least....a farmers market. This is what I need to be happy & live day to day. (simple, right?) I haven't mentioned fine dining because I don't mind having to drive for that. It's my laundry list of eateries that has to be local. Anybody want to weigh in with their recommendations? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Myrtle Beach area in November

If you like Middle Eastern food, try Habibi's Cafe & Market. The food is excellent! My fav is the vegetarian plate.

Lunch while driving on Interstate 40...NC & TN

Wow, what a disappointment. I guess all of the hype is because of FoodNetwork? I'm sorry to say that Driving there for the pizza was a waste of time!

Lunch while driving on Interstate 40...NC & TN

Thanks for all of the suggestions. They all sound great! Hong Kong House sounds like a must. Has anybody eaten at Pizza Palace in Knoxville?

Lunch while driving on Interstate 40...NC & TN

We would love to stop, while on a long trip, & eat a decent lunch. No fast food. We will be on I 40 going thru Dandridge, Newport, Hartford, Waterville, Cove Creek or Jonathan, just in time for lunch. We would like to find a restaurant that is not to far from the exit, & kind of casual. Any recommendtions?

Road TRip: Louisville, KY to Myrtle Beach, SC.....

We are going to be driving from Louisville, (Actually St Matthews) to Myrtle Beach on Sunday. We will probably make this same trip a couple of more times ( both ways) in the coming weeks. Can anybody recommend some good places to eat.....not too far off the interstates, kinda healthy, not a chain, not expensive,.... & oh, yeah, PIZZA is a fav for everyone involved. So, I'd love to hear about your favorite find for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Please help me figure out this cookie recipe!

Everybody in our family loves this "Drop Cookie". It is a round cookie, kind of thick, a little crispy on the outside but nice & flaky inside, with a round drop of chocolate on top. The chocolate looks like it's going to be hard, but when you bite into it, the chocolate is soft. They are from our favorite bakery in NJ, Colonial Bakery. I'm sure one of you guys can point me in the right direction. I'd love to surprise everybody on Christmas morning with this treat.
Any ideas?
:)

HELP! Drop Cookie recipe from Colonial Bakery in Lavallette, NJ

I am looking for the recipe of a cookie that we always used to buy at Colonial Bakery, located in Lavallette, NJ. It was part of our traditional "summer down the shore" favorite eats. It is a round cookie with a dollop of chocolate on top. I think they were called drop cookies. Maybe we just made that name up. IDK. My step-daughter went to Seaside Park, NJ for a vacation in August & as a surprise she brought me back some cookies...drop cookies...smiley face cookies...pure heaven. We now live in Myrtle Beach, SC & the concept of a real bakery has not taken hold here. I would love to find this recipe & surprise everyone at Christmas with their favorite Childhood Cookie. The smiley face cookies are covered in yellow sprinkles with chocolate eyes & mouth. The chocolate is soft when you bite into it. The cookie has the perfect texture..crispy outside & soft inside. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Here's a photo to help spark your memory!
