A place not on the subway line: Where should I go if I have a car for one day?
Thanks for all the replies! There are some great suggestions. I posed a similar post on the tristate borad so there are some good ideas there as well.
Where to go if you only have a car for one day.
Thanks for all the replies so far! Price isn't really an issue. I think the whole point is that something doesn't have to be expensive or critically acclaimed to be good.

Blue Hill is kind of what I'm not looking for (i.e. somewhere widly reported in the national press. Good food no doubt, but a price tag to match). It's kind of like me asking where to eat outside London and 'the fat duck' as a response.
I'm looking for a hole in the wall, somewhere that serves decent chow (or better). I don't care if its a country farm or an original joint in a strip mall.

We had thought of City Island (biked there one time) but didn't know if there was a standout place. It kind of looks like a lot of fried food and hush puppies place.
As for what we like. Everything, particularly anything spicy!!

Like many in NYC, I don't own a car, but I have one next Saturday. So, my question is quite simple. Where should we go to dinner that we could otherwise not get to (i.e. a little gem that isn't accessible by public transport)?
Am really open to any cuisine or suggestion. Just want it to be somewhere I otherwise would have a hard time seeing.

Like many in Manhattan, I don't own a car, but I have access to one next weekend. So, my question is quite simple, where should we have dinner next Saturday night that we otherwise would find inaccessible?
I'm open to suggestions anywhere in a 30-40 mile radius of NYC. Just looking for a little gem that I cannot get to on the subway or public transportation.
Best coffee in New York City?
There is a new spot (kaffe 1668 or something like that) across from Whole Foods in Tribeca. Very good espresso. they also have like 10 varities of single cup brews. I like Cafe Cafe in SoHo as well. Absoloute best for me is Jacks Stir Brew. I think there are two, one in WV and one in South Street Seaport.
Best Lunch Spot between Denver and Albuquerque (via I-25)
What are some good recommendations that are not too close to one end or the other to stop and have an interesting lunch.? Not really concerend with what type of food; just something good and interesting.
I remember taking the El Paso-Los Angeles express bus, which stopped at a good taco cart. Am down for anything from a taco cart to a good sit down place. Appreciate your suggestions!
