5 Guys in Hamilton?

Does anyone know if it's open yet, or if not, roughly when?

Good pizza in Burlington?

I'm looking for a decent Pizza place in Burlington, preferably not from a chain. Is there any such place around at all? I'm not concerned with the style or type of pizza, just something tasty.

cuisinart warehouse sale

This sale is an annual event, and some of the proceeds go to a Children's Wish charity. They really do have some great deals, and over the last few years we have picked up some great things.

Snickles

Just tried this one, and it was an epic fail. Trying to pour the hot syrup down the side of the bowl while mixing, just did not work. As soon as it touched the side of the bowl, it hardened, and whatever did get into the mixture, hardened as well. I ended up with small pieces of hard sugar in a little marshmallow like mixture, with sugar threads all over the place and a whack of hard sugar on the side of the bowl.

Worst in Toronto

I second the Pickle Barrel. We went with the family a couple of months ago, as the kids had a good time there before Xmas. It was horrible. How can you make bad chicken fingers for kids? they can. Everyt tone one of us thought the food was terrible, and the service was just as bad. Our server quite obviously could care less about being there, and he let it show in every one of the very few interactions we had with him. Fail on all counts.

Pierre's Poutine in Guelph

I was driving through Guelph yesterday, and noticed this place downtown. Has anyone been there? Just curious. Didn't really expect a Poutine place to open in Guelph, but it seems that it's been there for almost a year now.

Buying local / humane meat?

I saw this in the Hamilton Spectator last week. I'm familiar with the farm, having worked there a little on weekends a few years ago. They take a lot of care in how they treat and raise their animals. I have not had the beef, but have had plenty of the lamb they sell, and it is fantastic.

What is good in Guelph?

Has anyone here been to Babel Fish Bistro lately? I have not been there, but know a few people who have, and they had good things to say. I have read some good reviews on the place, and that it is a big improvement from their pre-restaurant makeover days.

Young, pink Ontario lamb

If you have the room, there is a place just outside of Hamilton where you can buy it direct from the farmer. They usually sell it in "freezer packs", and I think they have a couple of different packs. I have only had the lamb, and it is fantastic.

New Poutine Chain above Burrito Boys

Just saw this article in today's Toronto Star, but thought it might be worth some discussion. It's an article on "where to get Toronto's best poutine".
