I realise this is an old posting, but after the great meals we've had at Longboards recently, I had to say this is currently our fave restaurant! |

Taco Loquisimio - "Gourmet" Tacos in Lake Worth freakerdude...I hear what you are saying, but I'm a Lake Worth resident for 30 years, and we love creative, good food! About the "not being open when you say you are", that's a bigger problem, and not excusable unless in case of a real emergency. And in that case, PUT A SIGN ON DOOR AND DON'T LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN. |

Our grouper cheeks weren't fried...they were grilled or maybe sauteed, and served in a generous portion of quinoa. I had a problem with a fried entree there myself (the chicken) and had to send it back, but this was heavenly. Guess frying might not be their strong suit. :( |

There's a great farm-to-table restaurant off of Donald Ross Road a little east of I-95 called Coolinary Cafe...not large, casual and modern, and not overly expensive. Had a dish with grouper cheeks a few weeks ago and it was fabulous! Not sure how far you're willing to venture, but I recommend it highly. |

Creative but not excessive $ in West Palm/North Palm? Wanted to report on our experience - we decided on Coolinary, and managed to arrive before the crowd at about 5:30. We started with the squash blossoms as an appetizer, and they were magnificent, tempura fried, stuffed with a mixture of crabmeat and cream cheese. For dinner we both ended up with Grouper Cheeks with quinoa, peppers, raisins, artichoke hearts. Not something I'd ever have picked but it was so unusual and satisfying with lots of complex flavours of spicy, sweet and tender. Actually, I ordered the fried chicken because I read raves about it and must be the only person to ever send it back (not something I do) because it honestly was to me boring and ordinary, and a bit dry. It was such a memorable experience. Fantastic food in a lovely, modern setting, very good service. We'd gladly go again. |

Creative but not excessive $ in West Palm/North Palm? freakerdude, you're the best. Thank you! We got spoiled for choice a few months ago spending a week in Charleston, and now we can't find much here that we like that's not a major budget breaker. This is a big help. |

Creative but not excessive $ in West Palm/North Palm? Celebrating a special anniversary this weekend, and would like a recommendation. Have been told Entre Nous on Northlake at US1 is excellent, but remember hearing about a place in the area featuring locally sourced items but can't remember the name. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! |

Just learned about Pho 16 while I was having a pedi (and I trust her opinion) so we passed by to pick up a menu. On a Friday night it was slammin' and I really want to come back and experience it for myself. Thanks for posting this Michele! |

Palm Beach County - New or Coming Soon freakerdude, this looks interesting and(I hope) good. I'd dearly love a really good Vietnamese restaurant 'cause we seem to always go down to Margate area. Have you tried it? Please report on it if and when you do. |

kyach123, My other two faves are ethnic - one is Chinese, the other Indian, but I'll leave it at that. Hope you have a great time! We just got back from Charleston and were totally spoiled for choice there, but there are a few gems here in PBC. |

New Farmers Market in Hollywood We visited YG Farmers Market a few weeks ago, and had a great time, even though we were somewhat disappointed in the type of offerings. There were a LOT of vendors, but I had hoped to see more of the things we see at a weekend Green Market (organic veggies, unique cheeses, things you can't find at your grocery store) instead of your usual produce stands. There were some very good bakery and food options and we enjoyed that, and I found some stunning bead bracelets too. The bahn mi at Yum-mi were "yummy" and the owners so very nice and the venue has lots of potential, but I'd like more bakery offerings, more ethnic or regional foods, and more options for things to drink like a nice juice or espresso bar. I think it needs more diversity. It would also be nice if the website gave specific directions about how to get there from I95 - that was challenging and counterintuitive! |

There are quite a few places in CityPlace and one place we loved a few weeks ago was Kona Grill. It is spendy for dinner, but if you get there before 5 pm they have happy hour with half price appetisers that we really loved. We tried four different ones and it only set us back about $24. You must dine either on the covered patio or the bar, but they weren't overly busy and this was no inconvenience. Have fun! |

Best Thai in Palm Beach County (Central)? I've had my faves here (A-1, Tub Tim), but they each have drawbacks, so looking for other suggestions. Wattana maybe? Orchids of Siam? Haven't had Thai in months but it sounds so good this weekend... Thanks for your recs! Lee |
