A friend is going to be out in SF for a few days and is seeking recommendations for excellent cheap places to eat that are easy for a tourist to find. Thanks!

In Burlington itself: Bluebird, Farmhouse (very new), Single Pebble are all good for sit-down. Bistro Sauce in Shelburne is superb - chef had run his own (dearly departed) Big Chile Republic, and brings a sort of fusion Filipino-Vermont-localvore sensibility to the menu. Michael's in Waterbury is great. Lots of terrific foods at any farmer's market too.

Scuffer has a woodstove (not always on), and really good beer selection.

Might be worth checking to see if Bluebird Tavern has it. Pretty impressive list of charcuterie. Ditto Farmhouse.
