Restaurant near 6th Ave and 25th St

Penelope on 30th and Lex is probably just within your distance parameters. good comfort food, not too expensive. people think of it as a brunch place but i like it at dinner on week nights. much much less crowded.
Boqueria on 19th b/t 5th-6th ave for good tapas though you can't make reservations.
Bar Breton on 5th b/t 28-29th -- i haven't been but it always looks pleasantly full when I walk by and New York Mag mentioned they had great burgers in the "where to eat in 2010 issue"

ottomanelli's cafe

hi all, there's been some good posts on the food here. i was wondering if they are still BYOB and if it could handle a group of 5 or 7. If not, besides Poke, are there any other BYOBs on the UES? thanks!

friday lunch, saturday breakfast help please!

2 NYCers coming into LA for a long weekend and would love some help. We've already got dinner plans (Lucques & Grace) but I am hoping for a couple of suggestions for a not too heavy lunch but still a place that is cool or has some character and of course tasty food for lunch tomorrow. I was also wondering if we've got any chance of trying to walk into pizzeria mozza and getting a table either at the very beginning or tail end of lunch. Do they take walk-ins at all?

And Saturday we were thinking of breakfast at the Griddle Cafe. I'm just wondering are we setting ourselves up for a ridiculously long wait? Are there better places to go (only other place we've been for breakfast is Cora's Coffee Shoppe).

We are staying in the West Hollywood area.

Thanks!

restaurant suggestions near the Broadway Theatre, 1681 Broadway anyone?

bann - korean bbq is on 8th ave and 50th
vice versa - italian on 51st b/t 8-9th ave is pretty good italian and always has $35 price fixe.
eatery - 9th ave b/t 52-53rd is upscale diner but can be loud.
if you go west it's not the barren wasteland people think the area is.

Something similar to Little Owl for tonight?

love little giant. i thought it was very similar to little owl.

Group dinner near Spring and Bowery

Sala on bowery & bond street isn't THAT far away. Great for groups.

day of massive eating indulgence

thank you so much for all your recs! i do live here so i was really happy to see a lot of places and eats i hadn't thought of. this may have to be a 2 day adventure with so many things to check out. thanks again and i will let you know how it turns out.

day of massive eating indulgence

my friend and i would like to spend next saturday eating our way through manhattan. we aren't looking for massive several course meals at any 1 restaurant. rather the plan is to hit like 10 places and have lots of small things - hot chocolate from city bakery, a donut from the donut plant, a cannoli from rocco's, a slice of pizza from some place, etc. looking for specific chocolate chip cookie, pastries, breakfast sandwich, banh mi, pork buns, and dumpling recommendatinos. other recommendations of any can't miss food items also welcome! TIA!

I want the wacky, over-the-top New York dining experience

Buddakan is a lot of fun I think. Definitely an experience. But the apps are so much better than the entrees, even w/a couple of drinks i don't think i've ever spent $150 each there.
Megu is mega-bucks but i liked it. the presentation of some dishes kobe beef you cook on river rocks, etc was fun.
I was disappointed with both morimoto and del posto. i thought babbo was far better than del posto. wd-50 is the definition of whacky.

Great pub food for Movie Date Night

PJ Clarke's on the mid/upper east side - great burgers
Onieal's in the LES/little italy area

Pre-Theatre with Teens

try Eatery on 53rd and 9th (new american) or Vynyl on 51st and 9th which is mostly wraps, burgers, sandwiches with some thai and all day breakfast thrown in. kind of like a funky diner. but both have some style so they are fun to go to and the food is decent.

HELP - NEED NEW TRENDY DELICIOUS IN NYC

i would 2nd the MPD area. buddakan is the best for people watching and personally i thought the food was way better than expected. loved the edamame dumplings.

STK is the new hot place. craftsteak was great though a little too business-y to be a scene. morimoto is only ok in my opinion.
