Seafood/fish CSA or Bulk Shares?

Hello,

One of the saddest things for me about Thundering Hooves closing is that I bought 30lb shares of salmon from them during salmon season. Does anybody know of other resources for bulk seafood, especially salmon or halibut? I would usually split it with friends, but it was really fantastic and cost-effective to buy in bulk.

Thanks!

how to cook lamb shoulder steaks?

i have a pair of lamb shoulder steaks from a local farm in my freezer that i need to use up, but i have no idea how to cook them. i know shoulders are generally good for braises and slow cooking methods, but i'm not sure what to do with them cut into steaks. any advice or recipes would be appreciated!

How can I salvage bland chicken stew?

you guys are fantastic! i did sear the meat first (i should have added that) but it was still very "eh" (even though i used good quality organic chicken). however, you guys have totally given me some hope that i'll be able to make something worthwhile out of it. i LOVE the japanese curry idea especially! i'll definitely have to make a run to the local asian grocery store this afternoon.

How can I salvage bland chicken stew?

Hello!

I made this last night in the slow cooker- http://www.realsimple.com/food-recipe... and it came out pretty bland- edible, but very "eh." Now I have a ton left over and I'd hate to see it go to waste. Does anybody have any ideas of how to use the leftovers to make it more interesting? I was thinking making some interesting sauce or somehow turning it into a pot pie or casserole- all suggestions and tips are welcome!

dinner out on christmas day?

thanks you guys!
has anybody ever done a holiday at boka kitchen? would that be a little too trendy for parents- they are reasonably open minded for food but always complain about places being too loud.

dinner out on christmas day?

My parents are coming in to town for the holidays and want to eat out on christmas. I know that I'll probably have to stick to a hotel restaurant since not much is open (they don't want to do Chinese, so that's out), but I'm really not familiar with hotel restaurants. Does anybody have any recommendations- we don't mind splurging a little but don't want to do something with Canlis prices- maybe $50-$60 range per person? Bonus points for something not too stuffy (but if stuffy = delicious, we'll do stuffy). If it's not a "hotel restaurant" but is open christmas that is fine too.

Thanks in advance!
