Bastille Day fun dinner?

Happy Bastille Day!

Did a search and did not find a post on restaurants that are tasty and fun for Bastille Day celebrations. Any recommendations for something lively and very French as in locals/expats go to celebrate? I used to go to Tout Va Bien but looking for something downtown this year.

Debating between Felix and Cercle Rouge but open to other suggestions. Normally food is priority but for this time, I'll give fun and jovial ambiance the edge with food a close second. Thanks!

Searching for Turkish Perde Pilavi

I had the most amazing Turkish food on a vacation to Istanbul, hoping to find something to scratch my itch in NYC...specifically Perde Pilavi. It's a rice dish with chicken and currants wrapped up in a delicious pastry shell. I've searched the boards with no luck. Anyone know of a place that has this dish? Thanks!

I cannot find Stretch-Tite plastic wrap in Columbus. Any tips on where to find it? It's the only plastic wrap that works well.

Amsterdam: A Great Dinner In A Room With Character...

I went to De Kas in June, the setting in the greenhouse was gorgeous but I have to say the food was underwhelming. Granted, it was good for Amsterdam, but overall I've definitely had better. Maybe I'm spoiled living in California and fresh grown produce is something to be expected. Hope you enjoy and please report back!

Anyone been to L'Atelier Renault in Paris?

The food doesn't sound that enticing at Renault, is it maybe better for just drinks or don't bother for a short visit?

Anyone been to L'Atelier Renault in Paris?

I've searched the boards and haven't found anything on it, has anyone been to L'Atelier Renault? It looks to be a car museum/restaurant/bar, very modern.

European city with great chow and Christmas markets?

Ok we settled on Munich with a possible side trip to Salzburg. Is one better than the other in terms of food, Christmas markets, etc.?

European city with great chow and Christmas markets?

I would love to go to Germany, but my friend wants to try somewhere else. So to amend my first post, outside of Germany; where would you recommend. If Germany is really the clear winner, I'll have some convincing to do. :) Thanks!

European city with great chow and Christmas markets?

I'm a little bit overwhelmed trying to narrow down where to go for the Christmas markets. Of course I live to eat so I figure the city with the best food and great Christmas markets wins.

So far I've narrowed it down to either Prague, Brussles, or Vienna. I've never been to any of these places and they all seem to be amazing from what I've read on the boards.

Please let me know what you think of these, I am also very open to any other city suggestions. Thank you!!!

Fun group dinner at/near Venetian Las Vegas

Do NOT go to Carnevino!!! We went this week and it is very obvious that they are still working out the kinks as the restaurant is still new. Service was slow and confused, long gaps between each course, the servers got mixed up with who ordered what at our table and sent cutlery/dishes to the wrong diner. I ordered the NY strip medium rare, it was practically raw and still cold inside. I sent it back to the kitchen and it came back overdone, medium well to well done around the edges and medium in the center. Many of our dishes were oversalted and inconsistent. I was really looking forward to this meal as I really love other Batali restaurants but was very disappointed. Hopefully they'll be able to work out the kinks soon.

Fun group dinner at/near Venetian Las Vegas

I considered David Burke, but have not heard good things. I'm leaning towards Carnevino, giving in to the meat eaters. Has anyone been yet?

Fun group dinner at/near Venetian Las Vegas

I'm looking for recommendations for a tasty & fun business dinner. It's a group of 10 with varied diets, everything from die hard beef eater to a fish only eater (I guess that's what you get with big groups).

I personally love Bouchon but wanted to try something new, maybe one of the new Batali restaurants? What is the best bet for a broad menu variety without compromising food quality? Prefer to stay with Venetian/Palazzo restaurants just for convenience sake.

T. Cook's in Phoenix dinner recs???

I'll be dining at T. Cook's and would like to know what dishes are recommended. It looks like there may be a daily changing menu? I have not been able to find any posts on what to order or what specific dishes were good so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

SOS in Jersey City

Thanks to everyone for their recommendations. As suspected, we ended up having to go with the group's decision. We went to South City Grille, it was OK considering all of the people/factors we were trying to accomodate, but I would not go back.

Gordon Ramsay or Maze at The London?

Just got back from the trip, Maze completely lived up to our expectations. We had a slight hitch with making the reservation, but once we arrived, everything was top notch, service, decor, and food. It was pretty busy with the after work bar crowd on a weekday night. We especially loved the short ribs which was perfectly fork tender and flavorful. My favorite dessert had a green apple gelatin in a shot glass along with I think ice cream, I forget the name of the dessert, I ate a lot last week!

SOS in Jersey City

I will be traveling to Jersey City on business, staying at the Hyatt on the Hudson. From my research, there are not a lot of great restaurant options and unfortunately, I don't think my boss will travel into the city to eat (he's not that into food besides your basic steak and potatoes). Is there anywhere decent to eat, looking for something that will be good for a group with different tastes. Please help!

Gordon Ramsay or Maze at The London?

I am still deciding on the dinner venue, I definitely eat out a lot so if the food at Gordon Ramsay is only "good", what would be some other "great" recommendations? Right now I'm also looking into Del Posto and Gotham Bar & Grill, but I'm an out of towner so I'm sure I'm missing some real gems. Thanks

Gordon Ramsay or Maze at The London?

Does anyone know the difference between Gordon Ramsay & Maze? From the website it looks like GR is more formal than Maze, but how does the food compare? Is one better than the other? I'm planning a business dinner for a group of 7, but we are a pretty fun crowd so dinner does not have to be super formal. Thanks

Mini Cream Puffs, or regular size?

There's a Beard Papa in Hollywood & Highland, they only sell regular size puffs. I don't normally like sweets filled with cream, but I crave these.

What to order at Il Sole on Sunset?

Based on reviews of Il Sole, I'm hoping for the best and expecting the worse. What should I order for dinner? I'm open to trying anything that is good. I'll be on an expense account so at least the sticker shock shouldn't be too bad. Is the service really that awful?

TIA
