Chicken livers, organic or natural
I've purchased chicken liver from Cumbrae's in the past. I had to ask the individual helping me got it from the back.

Bubble Tea Ingredients Downtown Toronto
You can get the Lipton Yellow Label tea bags at T&T. That's what they use for real milk tea for bubble tea. Just add condensed milk and sugar as desired.
Burger delivery to downtown toronto
We recently started ordering the burger/fries dinner (can also pick wedge cut, spicy straight cut or onion rings) from BBQues. It's not bad. The patty (IMO), is reminiscent of a harvey's patty. The bun is good.
If you click the online order link on their website, it'll direct you to GrubCanada. I've had some problems with GrubCanada when ordering for BBQues, so you might just want to call BBQues directly.

Homemade Bread
After it's fully cooled, I slice mine and put the whole loaf in the freezer.
Jim Lahey new bread book; rustic carrot loaf recipe
Yes, it did come out orange like on tv. The picture they use doesn't do it justice. I don't have the book, I just used the recipe online at Martha.
Jim Lahey new bread book; rustic carrot loaf recipe
Just had a slice of the carrot bread. It is delicious. Very easy to make. I didn't have currants, so I used raisins. No cumin seeds either, so I left those out.
I would highly recommend it.
LCBO and Costco - best one
My sister is always telling me about all these organics products as well as organic meats at Costco.
I 've seen very very few organic products. None whatsoever in terms of meat.
LCBO and Costco - best one
What do you consider as a good or bad Costco? What product selection are you referring to? I often hear from my sister in the US telling me about interesting products. There often are not many interesting products at the Costco on Queensway (that's the one I'm closest to). I often just go for supplies like diapers.
Bread Baker's Apprentice vs Crust & Crumb or both
Yes, I'll try and read CC a bit and decide I like it. Thanks for the recommendation on Bread Bible. I will definitely look into that. A different perspective will be interesting.
Where is the Best Rice Pudding?
There's a stall at the market in Grand Central Station that sells rice pudding and tapioca pudding,
Bread Baker's Apprentice vs Crust & Crumb or both
I'm thinking of purchasing Crust and Crumb by Peter Reinhart and already own The Bread Baker's Apprentice. I have made a few recipes from BBA and have always had success with them all. Anyone out there own both BBA and CC? Can you tell me if it is worth it to own both or is it quite similar? What are the differences and/or simliarities?
Thanks
Scarpetta in Toronto
Anyone know of any additional details about a Scarpetta being opened in Toronto? I saw this a few days ago...

Eaton Centre Food Court
There is also a food court in the office tower past The Bay in the Path. It is less crowded on the weekends and some of the stalls are open. If I recall, on weekends, the 2 Chinese, Greek, Japanese (cooked foods) and McDonald's is usually open.
Torontonian visting Manhattan!
ooops. Yes, it does read like that doesn't it. I had pizza twice while in nyc. The 1st one at Bleeker Street Pizza - good think crust (although the edges were a little dry). The 2nd we order for delivery from Libretto - this one was excellent. Again, I prefer the think crust which it seems like that's how most places make it. The sauce (gravy) had the best flavour (not just salty where I find often occurs). The pepperoni had a nice spiciness. The one thing to note that I really enjoyed was that I found fresh mozzarella (slices) was often used instead of they dryer shredded cheese.
ISO Killer Apple Pie Recipe, but in which style?
Made this 2 times. Both times came out perfect. I saw this on Everyday Baking maybe over a year ago. I always use less sugar than indicated. Depends on your sweetness level.
Here's the recipe: http://www.pbs.org/everydayfood/baking/recipes/apple_pie.html

The instruction in the video is great.
Bread Baking Help
i've made this recipe a few times. When asked for coarse wwf, i use a wwf who's appearance is like cut/slice pieces of wheat. It is not at all like usual AP flour that looks like powder. When asked for high-protien wwf, i don't use wwf. I substitute it with regular bread flour. I haven't made this with high-pro wwf. Although the way I make it, it comes out perfect each time, not too dense but still a lot of whole wheat.
Torontonian visting Manhattan!
Just came back from a week's vacation in Manhattan (from Toronto too). For some exceptional ramen try Ippudo (google map, ippudo nyc). I think it's on 4thAve btw 9th 10th st. Also loved the pizza there.
Kensington Market Area - - Great Food
Thanks, for the help. We like to eat out and like to keep a list of places that fit our kids. We order a lot of delivery now. Hopefully they deliver to our area.
Kensington Market Area - - Great Food
Can you tell me how large their restaurant is and if it looks like they have room for very young children (under 5 yrs) - plus stroller?
thanks
Loblaws for losers ? well, loses me anyway - off to Sobey's I go !
For some reason, grocery stores like to spray their vegetables with water. I guess they think it looks better to the consumer. I've always disliked this practice since it encourages bacterial growth and deterioration on the vegetables/fruits. Most places in Chinatown and/or Asian grocery stores will not do that for that reason. Wish they would stop doing that.
The return of Kenzo Ramen
Went by yesterday afternoon. The food was delicious. I ordered the miso ramen and takoyaki. The broth was excellent and very tender (did not have the fat on it as mentioned in another post). The takoyaki was not on the menu but when asked, the waitress said they had it. Each one had a minimum of two good size pieces of octopus. I found the service to be adequate.
I will most definitely be visiting often.
New Hong Kong Style Bakery - 336 Spadina(? if my memory serves me correct)
The place across from the dinner at St. Lawrence market has the Portuguese custard tarts. Forget the name of the place.
Alphonso mangoes, when does season start?
I have seen them selling at T&T for at least the past month in cases and loose.
