Unique/Impressive Dinner Experience in Los Angeles Although Patina is far from unique in any way the evening is a good choice. |

Last good Quenelle (nantua) I had was at Rostang in Paris. Please, if you get any recommendations please let me know. Years ago Chaya Brasserie had great lobster ravioli. Do you have any places you love for that. Thanks, Anubis |

La Paella Restaurant - the real deal I agree with your initial review on the paella. Really too expensive to try again on inexpert opinions. Let me know if you go. I'll return the favor some day. |

Dinner tonight in (or near) Beverly Hills I'm afraid that the place you suggest does not exist except maybe at a a 2 star Michelin in Paris. You might enjoy Ingrid on Big Santa Monica Blvd. It is walking distance from your hotel. Good food, amateur service but nice people at "reasonable" prices. Small funky place. Enjoy. |

Hoboken, next door to Matteo's Great meatballs and spaghetti, clams in white clam sauce, most pastas. Depressed manager with silly service. Paper napkins all at a very high price. Not a value. |

I foiund Red Square awful. Bad service, OK food at high prices. As Russian domestic caviar. Place to avoid. Aureole , Mandalay's upscale restaurant, is the most ovefrated high priced jolint in town. That's saying a lot. |

Questions about L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon cost and seating options A great meal for 6, properly done, @ Roubochon will run at least $200PP. No way it is worth it. Try Pamplemousse on Sahara. Been there about 40 years. Old fashioned and very good old fashioned French meny. Try the duck. Less than $500PP with wine. |

Thoumieux, the best cassoulet ever is no more. |

Need a cassoulet fix on the west side. Send info and confit A/S/A/P |

Le Reminet : What a sorry state of affairs.............. An unprofessional owner is inexcusable. It is not your duty to repair the mistakes of others. I will be in Paris next month and will not dine at Le Reminet. Sorry, but thank you. |

For 25 years we have eaten @ Thoumieux. We have only eaten the duck confit and the cassoulet and absolutely loved it. I am therefore disappointed to read all the negative reviews. I knew the owner and his son, the chef. I am surprised that it has been sold it was in the family for generations. Will try Violin as suggested further down. |

German Restaurants in Los Angeles? You are close to right. There are only a few German restaurants in NY, none of thgem will replace Luchow's. |

I want to try Foi Gras but I don't know where to try it Everyone calls what they serve Fois Gras. However 99% of the time it is duck liver. Not bad but nowhere the sweet cloying tast of goose liver which is real fois gras. It is great but a heart attack on a plate. Some places get fois gras prices dor duck liver as they do for domestic caviar. |

Agree. Can't believe they are so sucessful. Putting there name on the joint in the plaza @ the Music Center shows how much respect they have for anyone. |
|
|
absolutely low value. Incredible that Michelin gave Melisse 3 stars. I would not give them 1. |
|

All are terribly overrtaedand expensive. The service is simply not good enough for the price. I loved the schnitzel @ Spago. Added an egg and anchovies and voila der Holsteiner. |

Good Cassoulet in L.A. or too bad no way? They serve cassoulet all year in Paris. Thoumieux is famous for it. The chef @ Mimosa won't do it until it's COLD. I've tried for the past few weeks. I'm trying Mimmi tonight at this sites recommendation. Hope spring eternal. I might settle for a great Paella if anyone knows where to get it. |
