What's the word on Spago's in downtown Palo Alto? Is it still open? Is the food still good?

Need Lunch Restaurant in Route to Palo Alto Tomorrow
osteria is closed for holiday until the 17th (i'm pretty sure it's the 17th.
Citrine - Redwood City
I went there yesterday with the BF and it was just okay. Perhaps we didn't order the right thing. I liked the decor of the restaurant and will try to post pictures later tonight that I took (loved that there was a handle on the table so I could hang my purse!).
I had thai lemongrass soup which was oily, and had way too many carrots that were too big for the soup. the chicken was pretty sparse.
i also had the asian chicken salad - the peanut-ginger dressing was a tad overpowering. the menu said asian vegetables but I found maybe one or two slices of a red bell pepper - everything else was greens and peanuts.
The BF's margherita pizza that claims had a "savory" tomato sauce was spicy. Very spicy. Since the BF doesn't care much for spicy, he didn't care much for the pizza.
Otherwise the restaurant was clean, the bathrooms were clean, the service was okay for the concept. If I go back, I'll have to try something else.
Jade Palace on California Ave in Palo Alto
can you give a little more info on their dishes, what to order, prices?
Napa - No Reservations?
if you can get to zuzu, i'd just go for dessert and order the apple emplanada. YUM
Napa - No Reservations?
I'm a huge fan of Zuzu in downtown Napa. The Boonfly Cafe at Carneros Inn is great - try the doughnuts!
Have you thought about making reservations viz Opentable? I'll bet most of the restaurants are on there....would be easier than calling.
is chapeau open?
the BF drove by today and said the front of the restaurant looked as if it were closed for remodel. wondering if anyone knows if it's open or has been recently. i tried calling but no one answered.
tia!
Asian fusion restaurant for wedding??

Recommendations Peninsula Anniversary Dinner
If you like Indian, you could go to Amber India and order the Amber Dinner. It's well priced for dinner, comes with good options and well within your price range.
Strait's in Palo Alto
isn't the PA location under a different owner from the rest of them?
italian in palo alto?
the BF and i are looking for an alternative to our favorite italian place in palo alto which is osteria. we love it but it's sometimes hard to get a reservation especially when we decide last minute we want to go...which is usually the case.
i haven't yet tried other italian places in the area - or surrounding area for that matter. any recs?
the BF is threatening with olive garden so i hope to find a #2 soon!
Genki Ramen - Thumbs Up!
i drive by this place all the time and the BF and i have always wondered how it is. glad to see good reports all around!
columbus, ohio in may..
fantastic. are there any places near the ohio expo center? i think we're going to get tickets to see corteo one night which will probably be our one night of dressing up!
my aunt and uncle who are both osu alums have given us a few places to check out for eating but they tend to be more of the steak and potatoes and less on the foodie side.
columbus, ohio in may..
just checked out the link for the burgrandy room - sounds perfect for my friend who loves wine and for me who loves food. and for the both of us who are on a budget!
columbus, ohio in may..
is there a specific place in german village that you'd recommend? thanks for the other recs!
columbus, ohio in may..
those are great ideas! we're only in town for 4 days, 3 nights so that's plenty! i'm writing these down right now...
Help! Need a place for a business dinner bet SF and Palo Alto
Or you can try the one in Burlingame. Both are fine - but if the client is in Palo Alto, perhaps that would be the better choice.
Palo Alto and nearby
you *have* to make a reservation if you go to osteria though. even on weeknights, they won't have an open table until 9 or 10 PM.
i love the place - my favorite is the veal with cheese and spinach.
columbus, ohio in may..
a friend and i will be in columbus over memorial day weekend and we're looking for recs on places to eat for all meals - breakfast, lunch, dinner. we're into good food but don't want to spend too much. she's a vegetarian and so i'm thinking steakhouses aren't probably going to cut it for the four days that we're there.
it would also be great to get fun bar or nightspot places to hang out. we're not the type to get all dressed up, but we do like to go out and have fun!
thanks in advance-
Krung Siam or Krung Thai in PA/MtnView
krung thai definitely. love the green curry at krung thai but medium spicy level is definitely HOT.
Palo Alto and nearby
funny i was there last weekend and both the BF and i remarked at how good the fries were. they were crispy, hot and cooked enough.
SOMA suggestions?
interesting! perhaps we ate there at the right time. i'll ask around work and see if anyone has eaten there recently.
Follow Up- Birthday Dinner at Boulevard
fantastic report! (and happy birthday) i'm always a fan of boulevard for it's views, food and service. the spring pea risotto sounds great.
SOMA suggestions?
and i haven't yet tried koh samui & the monkey (thai) but many i work with have said it's good.
SOMA suggestions?
amici's on king street is nice - i mainly go for their spinich salad which is fantastic! i hear they are building a panera that will be done soon.
