Morimoto at Boca Resort Hotel

I'm confused. I just called the Boca Raton Resort and was told that Morimoto isn't opening until after January 15.

Keys -- key lime pie from freshly squeezed juice

Actually, Manny & Isa's re-opened late last year, just a bit down the road from the original location. Manny and Isa are still retired, but a local restaurateur is running it now, and the woman who used to work at the old restaurant is leading the new kitchen. We took a pie home on our last trip down there, and it was great.

Matsuri in South Miami

I've been calling regularly since early September (just tried today too), and each time there's been no answer, so I assume that they're still not done. Maybe someone who's driven by can give us a bit more info.

Miami Noodle Shop?

Here's the website for the O Noodle Shop, on Lincoln Rd: http://www.oasiangrill.com/noodle.php
I haven't been, so I have no idea whether it's good or not.

But yeah, what lax2mia said is right. Miami isn't exactly known for its noodles.

Recs for Little Owl?

Yes, but you have to get there ridiculously early. They reserve all tables except two tables for two each night, so you've got a chance to get one of those if you get there before 6 or so. They open at 5pm for dinner, so my boyfriend and I were there by 5:10 and were seated immediately.

Recs for Little Owl?

I went there for the first time about two weeks ago with my boyfriend. We had the arugula and peaches salad, the sliders, the pork chop, and the halibut. All were excellent, although we weren't wowed by the sliders. Maybe we were expecting something out of this world because of the hype; they were really good, but we both agreed they weren't the best part of the meal. I think that distinction would likely go to the halibut, which came with a great pea-and-corn salad and pesto (and I'm not a huge pesto fan) and was perfect for a hot summer evening.

Pasta in Annapolis

Last time I did the Great Chesapeake Bay Swim, two years ago, I broke my "high-carb dinner before a race" rule and feasted on crabs the night before the swim. That didn't work out too well.

So this year, I'm going back to pasta. Can anyone recommend a good, not-too-expensive place to get pasta this Saturday? (Or any other type of place I could get a high-carb meal? I'm open to ideas.) The swim is on Sunday morning, so my boyfriend and I are planning a post-race lunch at Cantler's. Can't wait for that!
