Should I visit Brooklyn for a meal?

Hi me and my girlfriend are in New York in January and considering heading across Brooklyn Bridge for some food. Any good restaurants near the Brooklyn side of the Bridge that could be walked to or would it be too cold to walk across the Bridge that time of year??

Been to Manhattan a few times from Scotland, but never ventured into the boroughs so any recdommendations/tips would be great.

Thanks for the recommendations - to be more specific what were looking for is somewhere to get a quick breakfast ie bagels, eggs etc - if its a diner, deli, or whatever, any recommendations would be great. Thanks for the tip on Carnegie Deli - i'll avoid that for lunch!

What to wear for eating out in NY [moved from Manhattan board]

May sound a stupid question, but whats the general dress code around the city for eating at night? Sorta place we plan to eat is probably around $10-$30 for a main course so not up market. Any advice on this and some good restaurants to try for pre theatre would be great.

Anywhere between $10 and $20 for a main meal - maybe more one night for something a bit better. Not too bothered about drinks - likely to be just a beer/wine and maybe a soft drink so not really an issue.

I've been to NY once before and loved the delis for breakfast! Really like one opposite madison sq athough this was about 7 years ago so may not be there??

Any suggestions on the best delis for breakfast? Staying opposite carnegie hall although we'll be travelling around the city so any suggestions would be great!
