Tuscan Station at Wedding
You are so right. With all the weddings I have attended, I basically remember eating a delicious baby lamb chop prior to the sit down dinner at one wedding. Otherwise, it is all about celebrating with the bride and groom and family and friends.
Tuscan Station at Wedding
What is your opinion of having a Tuscan station (pasta, pizza, olives, cheeses, etc.) at an upscale wedding in New York City? Does the food appeal to most people and is it elegant enough for a wedding? Also, would it fit in with a sushi station (or if not, could you suggest an appropriate station). Also, I feel this type of food is a little old fashioned for today.
Best bridal brunch - Jane, Brasserie 81/2 or Other for 30-40 people
I want a reasonably priced bridal shower location for brunch. Jane and Brasserie 81/2 have private rooms for about 40. Which has a better menu and atmosphere? Other suggestions taken too. I also looked into American Bistro in Tuckahoe.
Entree for Wedding Brooklyn Botanic Palm House
Thinking of a wedding for Spring at the Palm House in Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. What entrees do you recommend (or not recommend)? Any other tips regarding menu for the wedding.
Manhattan or Brooklyn Hotel for 200 people wedding
Looking for a hotel for a wedding with a vintage/industrial/brick feel in Brooklyn or Manhattan for 200 people that has good food for a sit down dinner with dancing. In alternative, a restaurant which allowed dancing would also work.
Going Away Party
Really do not know going rates. Maybe, around 50/60 (could be Sunday lunch or brunch). Anywhere in Manhattan. I would also consider Westchester.
Going Away Party

Son's 30th Birthday Party
$30-35 just for the food, but, of course, if such a place does not exist I would go higher. Thinking about 20-30 people. Can't be more specific at this point. When I first made my post, I was just trying to get some names to explore before making any definitive plans.
Son's 30th Birthday Party
I think I would rather tell you a place that I know my son has liked - The Modern at Moma. They have a private room. But, I do think the price range is a little high for a group of 30 somethings. I am thinking of about $30-35 a person. I think I would like a rather a more casual atmosphere rather than a very formal atmosphere. "Off beat" I know could mean a lot of things, but I guess I meant to say an atmosphere that attracts a group interested in the arts (if that Is helpful in any way).
Son's 30th Birthday Party
I looked it up and it sounds quite good. Is there a private room or area for a party?
Son's 30th Birthday Party
I forgot to say that my son does not like ice cream or cake. But, I know I like those desserts, as most guests would too. Dylan's would not work.
Son's 30th Birthday Party
Most probably American cuisine, but open to others. No chinese cuisine, please.
Son's 30th Birthday Party
Looking for a restaurant in April to celebrate son's 30th birthday. The party might be for friends, relatives or both. He is not into big spectacles, but rather looking for an off beat type atmosphere Food should be good and price should be in the moderate to high range. Manhattan would be great, but would also consider Brooklyn. Not sure yet of the number of people.
French Restaurant for Party in New Rochelle/Larchmont Vicinity
I am looking for a place very close to New Rochelle. I have been to your suggested restaurant, but it is too far away for my needs. Thank you.
French Restaurant for Party in New Rochelle/Larchmont Vicinity
Would like to get names of good atmospheric French restaurants in New Rochelle or surroundings for a neighborhood party. I figure about 40-50 people.
West Side Restaurant Starting with M
I was told about a restaurant on the West Side (probably West 50's to 70's) that I believe is new. I do not remember the name, but it starts with a M. I was told that is was especially known for its delicious fish dishes and I think it may also serve Italian food. Does anyone know this restaurant?
Fado in Lisbon
Could someone suggest a good restaurant in Lisbon where they also play Fado music?
Best entree and dessert at The Modern at Moma
What isthe best entree and dessert at The Modern, the restaurant at the Museum of Modern Art? What are the worst?
Good Signature Drink
I like the sparkling rose idea. Any suggestions for brand. Thanks
Good Signature Drink
What would be a good signature drink to serve prior to a luncheon? I was suggested an appletini, but that seems old-fashioned and a do not really like the tase of an apple drink.
The Modern Restaurant Private Room
Has anyone used or been to the Private Room at the Modern Restaurant at the Museum of Modern Art. The room seats about 65. Was it an enjoyable experience.? Did the food seem too esoteric? Was the service good? Did the space seem conducive to a celebration like an anniversary or adult birthday? If you had a party, did it cost more than you expected? Any other comments appreciated.
