Wine Suggestions

I've been invited to an intimate Thanksgiving dinner. I've been asked to bring a couple of bottles of wine. I need suggestions on sweet and dry reds and whites. The meats to be served are turkey breasts and ham. Any suggestions on what to buy and where? Thanks!

Ethnic food in Columbia, MD?

I know I'm late, but I have to second HowChowBlog and say that Bangkok Delight and House of India are fabulous restaurants with excellent food and great service. Yummy!

Father's Day Dinner in Columbia, MD

I'm taking my dad and nine year old sister to dinner for Father's Day. I know most restaurants will be crowded, but I'm looking for something nice in the vicinity...it doesn't have to be Columbia Proper. He really likes Italian food. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Pulled Pork?

Thanks for the suggestions! I didn't plan on making BBQ sandwiches, but I love Martin's potato rolls and will use those for my mini sliders at the party.

Pulled Pork?

That's pretty much what I did. I bought a 17 lb. pork shoulder for about $26. I didn't trim the fat, but I did season the meat last night and plan to bake it low and slow in a 200 degree oven overnight.

Pulled Pork?

I don't like mustard BBQ either, but I totally agree with your suggestion. I spent a couple hundred dollars a couple of years ago on a BBQ caterer. I can definitely make this myself for much cheaper. Thanks!

Pulled Pork?

That's kind of far from me and it's NC barbecue. I hate BBQ with a vinegar base...

Cream of Obama

Kudos, Suzy Q...geez lighten up, people. This is a cool idea and if you check out the site, there is no mention of Obama. He's the president of all Americans, not just the ones that voted for him. Get over it, stop being bitter and eat some Yes Pecan ice cream!! :)

Where can I find pork butt?

I was there yesterday as well and didn't see them. Are they along the wall, or in one of the sections in the middle where the chicken breasts are?

Standing Rib Roast?

So is it sold by rib or by the pound? Maybe ask them $50 worth of meat? How much should I ask for when feeding four people?

Standing Rib Roast?

Where can I find a reasonably priced standing rib roast in Howard County? Costco? I've been given $50 to purchase the meat. Is that enough to feed three adults and one child? If I can't afford the rib roast, what could be a decent alternative, rib eye roast? Help!!

Thanks for all of the answers. How much would a rib roast cost? I've been given $50. Is that enough? Should I consider a rib eye roast?
