Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives (Canadian Version)
Coastal Cafe (on Robie Street) in Halifax - Used to be a Chef at upscale restaurants; got sick of the BS that comes along with that, and opened his own little cafe (maybe 10 or 12 tables in the place!)
Check out the awesome menu:

I have heard nothing but RAVE reviews for the food (see below if you want)

Has anyone tried the new (recently renovated) "Seasons" restaurant in the Atlantica hotel?
Fabulous New Store in Hydrostone Market - Liquid Gold Oils and Vinegars
Oooooh, cannot *wait* to go here! (I'm sorry, this post has nothing constructive to say really; I just had to vent my excitement to have a place like this in Halifax =o) Do you have any recommendations that you thought were particularly great when you tasted the products? Such a great idea; I find it hard to find great olive oil so can't wait to try this place out! Thanks!
BEST cheeseburger (a.k.a. happiness)
So far the best cheeseburger I have had in Halifax has been at Durty Nelly's Irish pub (I know, I was surprised too). I have yet to try "Cut" but judging by their menu description (3 types of beef to choose from?! *yay* and homemade ketchup *yay again*) I am betting it will knock my socks off. Until then...
Just curious where your favourite has come from. [I'm not talking Darrell's quality either (read: frozen beef)] ...
aaaaand Go! ... Let's hear it :)
Best pizza place in Halifax
Have you tried Morris East yet? I have heard it is divine. Bramoso on Quinpool is my personal favourite so far since moving here... eat in though; don't get delivery - it's horrible and cold, but when you dine-in the experience is amazing - fresh pizza from the wood-burning oven *heaven* !!

PEI: Best Dining?
I used to live in Charlottetown, and would make the drive back JUST to eat at The Pilot House (downtown Charlottetown), and also if you want awesome fish & chips go to the Gahan House Brewery (also downtown). Enjoy your trip - PEI is awesome, you will have a great time :)

Where to find fresh Calamari in Halifax?
My Husband has never tried Calamari, and I want his first experience to be a good one, as I have had many bad calamari dishes before.
You just never know what you're going to get when they bring the plate to the table :o(
Delta Barrington brunch(?)
Just wondering if anyone has been to this, and what it's like (a.k.a. If it's worth dishing-out over $20+/person for it) Thanks! =)
Best kept secret in halifax
sweet! just moved here and looking for good places to go with my hard-earned cash (ordered Venus pizza last night, and ended up spending $20 on a COLD pizza, then they refused to send us another one [!!!]) Anyhoo, I laughed at the "Somehow she even makes cooked carrots taste good." comment you made - will definately have to check it out =) Thanks!

IL Mercato - Downtown Halifax location
Just wondering how good this restaurant is, because I have heard mixed things (about this location especially).
If you have eaten here, what would you recommend I order? (I like everything! LoL)
I've heard the food is great (especially the pasta-dishes), but what is the atmosphere like?
Thanks for any info :)
Anyone tried the "Cellar bar & grill" in Bedford, NS ?
Was passing this restaurant last night, and have never even noticed it before, then noticed all of the nice cars out-front ...
Just wondering if their food is any good ? I can't seem to find many reviews online for this place.
Also, if you've been, what are the prices like... judging by all the fancy cars out front it may be out of my price-range, but maybe not :P
Thanks
Halifax & Surrounding: Your fav diner joint?
Oops, I got ahead of myself and posted a "Looking for great diner in Halifax" just a minute ago, without reading the *already* posted items already (sorry =o(
I pass the Esquire everyday on the bus, and it always seems busy... will try their breakfast, thanks LJS :)
Best Halifax diner/breakfast
Looking for the best diner for a great breakfast. Looking for a true 'diner' feel, with great food.
Have tried "Cora's" a few times, but find it really expensive and kind-of showy, also not that great quality of food.
Looking for stick-to-your-ribs, home-cooked (and awesome homefries if you know of anywhere too :P Thanx
Best pizza place in Halifax
Hey, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions of a great place to get pizza in Halifax. I'm not a big fan of the "thin crust" pizzas though (my fav. franchise is Pizza Hut, I'm a dough girl :P LoL
