Upscale Mexican birthday dinner

You can check out La Camelia in the W. Village. Just went there. Food was excellent and they take reservations.

Delicious ham for Christmas dinner?

We're staying local this Christmas, but nothing says Christmas like Grandma's ham with all the fixins. Any idea which restaurants may be serving Christmas dinner w/ ham?

Thanksgiving delivery?

I know it's last minute, but for those of you still around, my boss's friend wants to order a Thanksgiving dinner to be delivered to a friend in an NYC hospital awaiting/recovering from brain surgery. (Not sure of all the details--I'm guessing a Manhattan hospital.)

Any ideas about where she can still order that?

Pita Grill--Worst Falafel Ever!

My bf was going on and on and on about Moshe's Falafel truck y'day. Pretty good (although not the best sauce I've had). The large falafel may also be the BIGGEST falafel sandwich I've ever had. Couldn't finish it. I also recommend the fries...but you might want to share. Salty, delish, and lots of them!

your favorite manhattan pancakes, waffles and omelettes??

Best French Toast (even though it wasn't on the post title): Angelina Cafe on Ave A. Brioche, fresh fruit, delish! And very affordable!

What's new and interesting since 2007? Ex-locals on a quick trip back

I think Crif Dog is same as always, but now there's a "secret" bar next door (that everyone knows about). It's called PDT (stands for Please Don't Tell). You can call ahead, especially during busy hours, or just stop in during slow times. You get in by going into the phone booth in Crif Dog. It's like your old standby with a twist.

Downtown bars in Midtown East

Thanks for the recommendations! I guess grittier as in I can wear jeans and old sneaks w/o getting the evil eye. I love a cozy wine bars (Tapeo 29 is my fav), come-as-you are beer bars like DBA, and places like Uncle Ming's (the kinda place where you can get up and dance on the couches).

Downtown bars in Midtown East

After time in the LES & EV, I'm moving to Midtown. Any cool bars in the Sutton area with a grittier downtown feel?

Sat Brunch/Lunch for Large Crowd - Cheap and Fun

Essex has brunch. I think it's $17 pp which includes 3 drinks pp. I know they'll take reservations for a group that size if they're aren't totally booked. Haven't had brunch there, but dinner is great. Might be worth giving them a call.

First Time in NYC-Looking For Restaurant Recommendations!

Mmmm...yes...Inoteca! Good food, ambiance, fair prices. And for Jane the Plumbers like myself, the staff there is more than happy to translate every single Italian item on the menu.
