Made reservations two weeks ago for last night for my wife's birthday,walked in about 30 minutes prior to have a drink at the bar and was told the bar is closed for a private party,I informed them that I had reservation for dinner and they told me the main dinning room is also closed for a private party but they have the back dinning room available.We took a look at back dinning room and compared to the main dinning room it is like black and white.Told host how unhappy we were and that we will never return.
Is it me or do you think they should have informed us that they had a private party or at the very least offered us some kind of solution? By the way we ended up at Aria and had a great meal.

As a big steak eater, Joseph's is second to none,however Blackstone was a pleasant surprise, a solid 8 out of 10. The only other place I would recommend in the area is Frankie's & Johnnies in Rye,as I tell my friends I like everything better ( atmosphere,service, and sides) at Frankie's & Johnnies then Joseph's except the steak,which is just a tad below Joseph's. Worth a try.
Parm for lunch,show, Bocca for dinner and Eataly for dessert.....What to order?

37th St. is a nice location and it is a just a tad below the top tier steakhouses, worth a try.

Tuscany butcher shop/Restaurant New Canaan. Anyone tried either of these?
We went in for a drink Saturday late afternoon,The space is beautiful! You walk into the butcher shop (prices were high,but displayed nicely)then continue into the dinning room which is ultra modern but well done, you then continue into the bar area with a horseshoe bar and some additional tables.I thought the whole place was laid out very well and apparently cost was not an issue ( read high end) we did not eat anything but talk to a couple next to us that a pasta & a chicken dish and gave thumbs up to both.Hope this helps.

Had a great dinner there last night! I know I know it's not like the place in Brooklyn,but let me tell ya the service and food was spot on.The steak for two was to die for.Had a great bottle of wine (2005 Raymond reserve).I will return.
