A first time visitor to Cleveland Looking for suggestions for breakfast, lunch and dinner that are uniquely Cleveland. Maybe the type of place you'd see on Diners Drive Ins and dives. Any places come to mind? |

Arriving late night at PHL, where to eat? Thanks and sorry to both you and bigley but I'd rather not drive into town but save that for another day. For now I'd go with Tony Lukes or Chickies and Petes unless you know of a place to stop on the drive to Vineland |

Arriving late night at PHL, where to eat? Can you help an out of towner out? I arrive in Philadelphia at 10pm on my way to Vineland, NJ and I'll be plenty hungry. I guess I'll be crossing the Walt Whitman Bridge into New Jersey. Do you know of a good place to eat that late along the way? No fast food please. Thank you in advance! |

I mostly go for either the shrimp or crawfish with the "whole shebang sauce",medium. |

I have greatly enjoyed eating at the Boiling Crab in Garden Grove. I would eat there more often, but boy is that a long, demotivating drive in traffic after work and then home at night. I know that a few other restaurants with a similar menu are in the area, but are there any similar places at least a bit closer to LA? Hollywood? The SFV or SCV? |

CATERING FOR OFFICE XMAS PARTY Thanks ahead of time Chowhounds, for helping me find a caterer that will impress my fellow employees. I have been put in charge of finding someone who can cater a Christmas party for an office of 40 people in Hollywood. I am open to anything except BBQ, because we have been there done that. Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

Can frozen custard be found in Queens? If not, then how about somewhere along the way from Queens to Stanfrod, Ct.? |

Is there still such a thing as a diner left in Queens or Northern Brooklyn? There had to be a hundred of them when I was growing up. I am thinking of places like Marchall's, The Parkway Diner, etc. Will I find one there on an upcoming trip I am making to my old neighborhood. |

I recall many roadhouse type of places in South Jersey that serve Maryland style all you can eat crabs. Is there anyplace in North Jersey that offers this? |

Queens boy trying to re-experience childhood foods Angelos was actually the "pizza of my youth" as we call it in my family having grown up on 141st Street & 70th Road.. Rumor has it out in LA that Angelo's isn't what is was in those days for pizza in partticular. My plan all along was to eventually stop there and have a slice/ I am curious, I see that the owners of Angelo's have opened a more upscale sit down restaurant, rather than the pizza place I rememeber. Have you tried the restaurant? |

Queens boy trying to re-experience childhood foods Would you mind please the streets that "Amore pizza in the Linden Shopping Center" are near? If I could have a slice similar to Gloria's on this trip, I'd be one happy man. |

Queens boy trying to re-experience childhood foods For the first time in many years I will be in the area of my boyhood. I am trying to find out if I can find some food haven't eaten in years. Are there delis left in Queens where I can find a square knish. How about a place for great bagels and bialys? Is there a great neighborhood pizza place left. Anywhere in Queens, hopefully from Rego Park to Flushing and points in between or not. Thanks for the help! |

Add to 21st Birthday Chow UCLA, Dessert? Thanks to the suggestions of you hounds we have decided to give Il Pastaio a try for a 21st birthday dinner. We are excited to try it. We thought of having dessert at another location just for fun. Is there a place to reccommend anywhere from Westwood, to Santa Monica, or Beverly Hills with noteable pastries, or ice cream/gelato to be had? Thanks again for the help! |

21st Birthday Chow From UCLA to Bev Hills or Sta. Monica My wife and I are planning to surprise our daughter at UCLA on a Tuesady evening by showing up and taking her out to dinner. It's just the three of us (her dorm mates will be taking her out later for whatever else). We are looking for suggestions anywhere from Westwood to Beverly Hills to Santa Monica that hounds could recommend, since we aren't often in these areas. Of course our daughter has her preferences: Italian, BBQ, Sushi, PIzza, Steakhouse and more. We are looking for a place that won't break the bank. UCLA has done that for us already. We still want her to have a nice time and we'll probably include a stop at Sprinkles where she'd want some cupcakes. Any finds that fit the bill in that area? Nearby areas? Thank you for any suggestions. |

Is there such a thing as a creamy dairy-free salad dressing? Place a chopped avocado in your blender, add a little lemon juice, balsamic vinegar. Slowly drizzle in some extra virgin olive oil until you have a creamy vinagrette. Salt and pepper, a little of anything else you like for flavor, an herb? This recipe helped me lose a lot of weight and introduce more vegetable servings to my diet. Delicious too. |

I would love to try Mozza very soon, but I work in Hollywood and then I face a long commute, so staying in town for dinner happens infrequently for me. I also would like to be spontaneous and not wait for a reservation. I thought that trying lunch at Mozza would be the ticket for me. Has anyone here been there for lunch? Reservations aren't necessary then, are they? Is the menu different for lunch? I am fairly sure that at least the pizzas would be the same, no? |

Clovis...Anything a Hound Would Enjoy Never having been in the Fresno/Clovis area, what could I expect to find? What recs might you have? Don't limit yourself by type of cuisine or price range. I am looking for a list from which to choose anything that might be recommended by Chowhounds, and thanks in advance !!! |

Chow between Hollywood and Staples Center tonight Headed to the Laker game tonight right after work in Hollywood around 6:30. Does anyone have a suggestion for places to eat between these two points? Ideally, I will be avoiding the 101 and 110 freeways, so a surface steet route is no problem for me. It has to be a place that will be fairly quick. Maybe someone knows of good pizza, a great burrito or burger along this route? Other types of suggested cuisine(?) welcome. Even one of your favorite dives? Help me avoid a $5.00 hot dog, please! |

What is the key to making a fluffy omelet? I have always made them in I guess the French manner, courtesy of David Rosengarten's show "Taste" some years ago. I enjoy them, they are thin and I like the center a little undercooked, almost gelatenous. From time to time I remember having omelets in a thicker version, I guess you would say, and cetainly fluffier, more airy. How does one acheive this ? |

Will this turkeystock be useable, how ? I had planned to make stock with Thanksgiving leftovers. To my sad surprise my sister threw out the carcass. I was left with 2 legs, 2 wings(all with skin intact)and a cup or so of white meat. It gets worse, I had no aromatics to add to the stock, also too busy to run and get some. Anyway I still made the stock which was a beautiful clear, golden stock and had a satisfying aroma. After cooling I froze it and now since I did not taste it, I wonder if this will be flavorful at all. By the way I started with 6 cups of water and had a yield of just under 3 cups. So now what do I have in my freezer, a waste or a good component for a pan sauce, or maybe a pilaf? Any other suggestions to try this in? |

I agree with The Boiling Crab. I have made 2 trips there while in the OC from Santa Clarita and it is worth every penny and mile driven. |
