Hartford help please
Agave is a sit-down place but they also have a little cart that parks out on Bushnell Park during the day. They have great burritos at the truck!
Also, I would add O'Porto on the Hartford/West Hartford line. Great portuguese food.
Firebox is great. Wouldn't bother with Black Eyed Sally's. Besito is good food but overpriced for what you are getting. You are paying for West Hartford basically. Better choice in West Hartford is Bricco. Another WH suggestion would be Arugula.

Joey Garlics to open in W. Hartford, CT??
I saw a posting on craiglist that they were hiring for their new restaurant in West Hartford so I believe it is true!
Reuben's Deli, West Hartford
So, I gave it a second shot. Went back yesterday around 11:00 am, beating the lunchtime rush. There was one person ahead of me in line. I ordered a turkey sandwich with bacon and provolone cheese, while my boyfriend ordered a corned beef reuben with fries. So far, so good. Order took about 10 minutes to make (and cost $25.00). We began to leave and the counter guy called us back because we were missing the fries... great catch we thought, so we then left. Got home to eat and guess what... NO REUBEN in the bag, and no bacon on the turkey sandwich (but it had mayo which i did NOT order). Went back and it was extremely busy. Had to wait 10 minutes to even get to the counter to get the order fixed. Waited another 10 minutes for them to remake the sandwich and make a reuben. And then they didn't even replace the fries, so we had cold soggy fries (and a VERY small order for what they charge). Reuben's really needs to get it down. They have zero organization behind the counter. The person taking orders should not be the same person bagging them. There should be a separate expediter putting orders in bags and making sure the orders are complete. And when an order comes back in because it's wrong, you do everything in your power to make sure it is right and enjoyable the second time. The food tasted better this time (although boyfriend agreed that the corned beef was too salty and the fries were cold and soggy), but they really need to get the issues worked out.
Reuben's Deli, West Hartford
Got a bottle of water too. Plus tax?
I will definitely try them again but I will stay away from the corned beef and try something different. I love knishes, so I'm eager to give them a shot there.
Reuben's Deli, West Hartford
Went to Reuben's on Sunday afternoon, about 2:00. I stood in line for about 10 minutes before I could even get to the counter to order. Not because the line was so long, but because they were so frazzled trying to get orders out, they couldn't even take orders for people waiting. There was no direction as to where to stand to order or who was waiting for food, so I waited around and finally left without even trying.
Since I was seriously craving some matzo ball soup, I decided to give them a second chance and went back around 6:00. Again, waited with no direction as to what to do next, until I finally got the counter girl's attention. She was not very pleasant, nor was she very knowledgeable. I ordered a 1/2 corned beef lean with swiss on rye, and a small matzo ball soup. Now I really like salt... on everything (pizza, burgers, vegetables, etc.). But both my sandwich and soup were SO salty, I could barely eat them. I know that new restaurants have a lot of kinks to work out, so I will chalk the chaotic ordering/waiting up to the new opening. However, the food should be ready to go and taste good. And I'm afraid that my first experience at Reuben's was not worth the $16.
30th Birthday party venue - Fairfield County
I am planning a 30th birthday party for my sister. There will be approximately 40 people there. Suggestions on a spot in the Fairfield County area where we can do drinks and food? On the casual side. We were considering renting a hall and getting it catered but would like to see how much restaurants would be first.
Thanks!

Marly's in Wilton?
Just went to Marly's Sunday night for dinner. Place was pretty busy for a Sunday night at 8:00. Service was great. Food was fantastic. I had pulled pork over black beans, and although I would have loved some rice with the beans, the flavors were great. Other diners in our party had hangar steak and delicious parmesan fries and the mac and cheese which was excellent. Price was right, food was great... overall a solid dining experience. We will definitely go back!
Raw Oysters - CT
My boyfriend looooves raw oysters and his birthday is coming up, so I'm looking for recommendations for the best raw oyster bar in CT. I know Max's Oyster Bar and we have been more than once so we are looking for somewhere different. We would basically travel anywhere in Hartford, Litchfield, and Fairfield Counties. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
birthday night out in west hartford or hartford
I agree with the Barcelona recommendation, but it can be pricey. Agave in Hartford is great, but also can be expensive. Maybe try Tapas either in Hartford or West Hartford. Corner Pug in West Hartford is a pub atmosphere but has GREAT food. I am also a big fan of Bricco, but I think some people may disagree.
Best French Fries in CT?
I am new to the Hartford area and I can't seem to find the best french fries in the area. They are my favorite food and I am dying for a good batch. Any suggestions? I live in West Hartford but would go anywhere within reason!
Best Pasta Dish Fairfield County but not too expensive
I don't actually know who owns it, but I would still try it! They have great food... i promise. It's right on New Canaan Avenue, on the corner of Bartlett Avenue and New Canaan Ave (Rt 123).

Filipino food - CT or Bordering?
Hi there... Does anyone know of anywhere to get authentic filipino food in CT or any areas bordering it? I know there are a couple places in NYC, but thats a little far to travel for me right now. My father was an excellent filipino cook who passed away a few years ago, and I'm dying for some good filipino food!!!
Thanks!
