New Beer Store

I was just shopping at Heartland(Mississauga) on the weekend with the family when I noticed there's a new Beer Store open. Its on the outskirts of the center, along McLaughlin close to Matheson and it looks like they took over the space that Linen n Things used to occupy. For those that need a better reference, its close to the LCBO but on the opposite side. Not really sure why they chose that side and not next to the LCBO but either way its there and I'm happy about it.

Its a self serve store, meaning you walk around and grab your own beer and bring it to the cash. Looks really nice and staff seem very friendly. Its about time they opened a store in this area. I'm glad they did!

Good Hot Sauce???

Does anyone know where I could get some good hot sauce but that won't break the bank???

We are having a Mexican theme J&J and we want to give out hot sauce. Not Tabasco. We need about 30 bottles.

If anyone could recommend a brand that would be great! I'm not much of a hot sauce fan, but FI insists that it must be Habanero.

MAGOO'S - 1 Tasty Burger!

I also like Magoo burgers. We live in the area and we used to frequent there often. The last couple of times we went my burger was too dry for me. I love the spicy fries.

Yonge & St. Clair

Can anyone suggest a good restaurant for a rehearsal dinner? We are getting married at The Rosehill in a couple of months and wanted our rehearsal dinner close by but I am not familiar with this area. We have about 15 people who will attend.

I was originally thinking about IL Fornello, but there is an egg allergy so its a no go.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Hot Oven Bakery @ Cloverdale Mall

Their pot pies are kinda famous. They have been featured in the Star.
I enjoy the raspberry danish. Its the best one i've been able to find. They also make great sandwiches.

Sloppy Joe's have great wings but I prefer wings at Scruffy Murphy's, across from Cloverdale Mall.

If you like Mexican you should try Mariachis. Good food and great margaritas. I think its a great place for a first date as its low key, casual and fun.

Unique cake design

Thanks for the replies. I've contacted a few well known wedding cake companies and they said they would make a round cake with an edible photo of the beer mug. :( not what I'm looking for.

Unique cake design

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking to get a small cake for our wedding in the design of a beer mug/beer bottle (we met while working at the beer store) Does anyone know a place where they specialize in unique designs?The few cake shops that I've called only do traditional wedding cakes.

We are having cupcakes at our wedding but I thought this beer mug/beer bottle would be great too!

Your experiences with these Toronto caterers?

We contacted Presidential Gourmet for our wedding. I told them what I wanted and what i didn't want on the menu. When the rep sent me the menu proposal, it had all the stuff I didn't want on it. I asked for mexican inspired food and certain types of meats and appets and I got all the stuff told him I didn't like. I didn't get it. Afterwards I told them I didn't like the menu and then they changed it to what I actually asked for. They still tried to get us to add other stations for our small wedding(60 people) which I told them I didn't want. I wasn't happy with our interaction. They kept calling me, a couple times a week to seal the deal i guess but it felt like harassment. Finally the co-owner call me to ask what they could do to win our business and I told them I had gone with another caterer based on all the info above.I didn't appreciate that they didn't listen to what I wanted and that cost them my business. He seemed very upset that his partner f'd up.

Fantasy Farm reviews

I checked this place out while planning my wedding. I heard they had good food and was really well priced. Well, when I walked in, i understood why it was well priced and why there were no interior photos of the place on their website. Its too tacky. its basically a cottage inside a building. Very old, date, low ceiling, and stained glass all which were cinderella inspired. I didn't like the look of it and it was too bad b.c it was the cheapest wedding I could have had. Great Mexican in Toronto?

My fav. is Mariachais Restaurant near Yonge and Eglinton. Every time I go, i'm never disappointed.
