The only connection to War Horse would be the Ireland connection. Joey the horse and his owner were from Ireland.

I try to have an Oscar Party most years and create a menu that goes along with the nominees- So far here is what I've come up with. I am not guaranteeing Gourmet or original, but impressive! I still would like to add a swedish dish to play tribute to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - which I loved!! Also I need to see the Tree of Life. This year there are lots of connections. The Artist, Hugo, and Midnight in Paris all take place in the roaring 1920's. I have not seen Tree of Life yet, but it was filmed outside Austin where I live, so I am assuming Southern, early Texas food. Anyway here is the menu so far. We are having it a week ahead of time due to a family wedding on the weekend of the ceremony and also because Sunday nights are hard with work the next day. If recipe doesn't have a link, then I already have a recipe for it, and don't need one.
