Restaurant near Fette Sau?
Planning to head to Fette Sau with a group this evening, which can be tricky. If it's too crowded or if they are running low on the food we like, I'd love to have a back-up in mind.
Anything good nearby for a group of six walking in?

Place to take my teenage sister tonight?
Before tax is tip is fine.
Would ideally not like to wait for a couple hours...
Place to take my teenage sister tonight?
Need a suggestion for a place downtown to take my 16-year old sister tonight who is visiting the city. Want a place where someone her age won't look particularly out of place, but will seem fun and "New York-y" to her. Trying to go no more than $35 a person without drinks. Would love to be able to walk in, so we're flexible on time.
Past hits with her and friends have included Frankie's Spuntino, Motorino.
Any thoughts?

Best Places to Walk in without a Res?
A friend just decided to come into town this weekend and I'd like to do a great dinner. Unfortunately, I'm a little late to get a res most places. I'm looking for a good place to walk-in to. I don't mind waiting up to an hour, but ideally that wait would not occur in a totally crowded bar area. Past favorites with this friend include Hearth, Peasant, and Alto.
Any suggestions of place to try? I was thinking of trying Locanda Verde.

Can't get a reservation at Perilla--other ideas for same price range/atmosphere?

Vinegar Hill House?
Apizz or Public?
For anniversary I think the vibe at Apizz is better. You may also want to consider The Orchard, which has a similar style of food to Apizz, but a better location and potentially romantic feel.

Babbo versus Scarpetta?
The service at Babbo is offensively bad. I have returned to the restaurant repeatedly hoping that service would improve. I can longer justify spending $$$ at a restaurant where they treat customers so rudely.

Quick, Cheap Lunches in SoHo
I just started working at a new office in SoHO and have no idea what to eat for lunch.
What are some good, quick, take-out lunch places in this hood ($10 and under). I want to get away from the standard Midtown-ish lunch joints.
Just moved to 6th and 1st...What to Eat?
I just moved to 6th and 1st and am exciting to try out places in the new 'hood. What's good in the area? I'd love some suggestions for some nice dinner and cheap neighborhood places.
Thanks!
Festive and Delicious Dinner?
Oh, by no means do I require Mexican. I just used it to describe the atmosphere I am looking for. This is a group of 18-60 year olds who could just get a little noisy.
Festive and Delicious Dinner?
I'm looking for a recommendation to celebrate a law school graduation with a group of 8-12 family and friends.
Ideally, I'd love something festive, rather than something stuffy. Mexican and margaritas sounds fun, but I also want to go somewhere with noteworthy food. I don't want a party atmosphere, just somewhere were a large group can enjoy good food and good drinks without worrying about disrupting someone's romantic evening.
In terms of price, entrees under 30 would be great. Downtown location preferred.
Rude Service at Num Pang
Decided to check out Num Pang yesterday after hearing relatively positive things about the food.
Because they are newly opened, I was willing to cut them some slack on service (which they definitely needed...) However, I was shocked by how rude the guys (co-owners?) were to the customers.
Service was slow, as expected. It took ~15 minutes for the 10 people in front of me to order and then another ~20 minutes for them to call my number for me to pick up my two sandwiches.
While I waited, they called the number of a man who ordered before me. After they called the number a couple times, the customer asked if they were calling the number for a vegetarian sandwich (a rather innocent question...). The cashier responded, "I don't f-ing know man."
Totally unnecessary.
Food itself was decent, way salty, and too small for a really satisfying lunch.
eating in Aruba 2009
I'd love to try out Mrs Kelly's truck. When and where is she located?
Aruba suggestions?
Thanks for all your suggestions!
Are any of these good spots to grab a quick lunch within walking distance of the Westin?
Aruba suggestions?
I'm heading to Aruba in a couple weeks and would love some restaurant suggestions. I'll be staying at the Westin and any ideas for quick lunches and delicious dinners would be great.
Thanks!
What to order at Lupa?
Heading to Lupa tonight. Any suggestions on waht to get?
Also, how much food should we order for two with regular appetites?
Terrible Service at Lil Frankies.
Food was simple, but tasty. My group had a mix of salads, pizzas, and pastas---all tasty, but nothing particularly noteworthy.
The service, however, was offensively bad. We were seated in the side room, which was only about 75% full for our early Saturday dinnertime. After sitting down, we waited about 20 minutes without the waiter even saying a word to us. Finally, I waved the waiter over so we could order and apologized saying, "I'm so sorry, we are in a bit of a rush, we just need to be somewhere by 8." The waiter snapped back, "Well, I'm in a rush too." He then proceeded to sit at various tables and chat with other customers.
45 minutes after we ordered, we still had no food. I asked the waiter if he knew if our food was on the way and he responded that all food was cooked to order and takes 20-25 to make. I asked him if he could check when our order was placed, as it had obviously been over this 25 minute threshold. He then told me he didn't have a chance to place it til a full 20 minutes after we ordered.
By the time we got our food, we only had five minutes to eat.
Needless to say, I would not recommend.
Italian for Kids?
Thanks for the suggestions. It be hard to go to Otto with a group of five on a Saturday night, so we'll try Lil Frankies or John's.
Italian for Kids?
My 14 year old sister and her friends are coming to the city this weekend. They'd like to go out for Italian. I imagine that they want pretty basic reasonably-priced Italian fare. I can't bear to take them to a crappy little Italy place.
Any suggestions for good, basic, cheap Italian food?
Kefi recommendations
I think the food at Kefi is great, but the service is god awful. The last time I went there was a solid 45 minutes between courses and we were not trying to take out time.
What are your favorites at Gramercy Tavern? Birthday dinner there tonight!
Smoked trout starter is great.
Convivio or EMP for Restaurant Week?
The menu doesn't appear too exciting. Anyone tried it yet?

Anyone know if they have the same frozen iced coffee they have in Israel? I loved that stuff when I was there.
