Menu Search
Really? Because I see it differently, a lot of times I'll search for a menu in Fairfield county on google just to find out that it doesn't exist. This happens a lot when my coworkers and I want to order out. A browse function may be helpful though if you dont know what you're looking for.
Menu Search
Hey! I haven't posted on here in a while, but I have found something noteworthy. I was doing a search for local menus and came upon this site, Fairfield County Menus. It seems pretty extensive in the areas they have so far, and it appears as though they are adding to it. Has anyone else used this site? I hope it lasts!! I'm always searching for menus online and I hate how difficult it can be.

Connecticut Pizza
New and surprising...Vinny's Grill and Grotto on the Black Rock/Fairfield line. They have a fantastic white clam pizza, if you like garlic and thin crust this pie is for you! They also have a pie with gorgonzola and pears. Delish. Full review here (complete with pictures): http://fcmenutalk.com/search/Vinny%27s+review
Vinnie's Grill & Grotto Opens Tonight in Fairfield (Fairfield County)
I can't wait to actually try the pizza for myself. Look forward to checking it out!! How does it compare to Molto?
Helados Vazquez - another original in Black Rock
I noticed they took the for lease sign down. Could something else be going in there? Does anyone know when that Brick Oven Pizza place is opening? I peeked in the other day and everything seems to be set up.

Cheap Eats Around Bridgeport
What kind of cuisine are you looking for? Price range? A place that serves alcohol or more of a stop in and grab a quick bite kind of place?
Old Ash Creek/The Reef?
Construction is looking good..I drove by yesterday and saw that what appears to an extensive bar goes along the width of the restaurant. Anyone know any inside dish? It does appear to be the same owners as in Stamford. I hope this brings more good things for the Black Rock/Fairfield bordering area.
Cafe Roma - Bridgeport - Disappionted with the town, not the dinner.
Bereket is absolutely fanthastic!
Colony to add new location in Fairfield
It has actually been closed up for the past couple of weeks...hope good things are happening!
Cafe Roma - Bridgeport - Disappionted with the town, not the dinner.
My husband and I frequent Cafe Roma during the week for an after work drink. I believe it is now under new management. When we went there last week they had pasta with a meat sauce and mussels for happy hour food. The drinks are always fantastic and the food is delish. I hear that the theater next door is opening soon as well!

Geronimo - New Haven
I must say that I enjoyed my experience at Geronamo. I had the bison nachos and yucca fries..both were fantastic! The tequila flight was tasty and I really enjoyed the passion fruit jalapeno infused tequila margarita. The service was attentive and knowledgeable. Overall it was a great experience, and would go back again.
Geronimo - New Haven
My friend just made us reservations there for a double date night. She went there with girlfriends and apparently enjoyed it enough to go back. However, after reading many of these posts, I'm having second thoughts. I'm think it sounds like the tequila went to their heads last time to have enjoyed it so much, but I guess we will see tonight...
Old Ash Creek/The Reef?
Ok, went by again...There is a sign out there that says Vinny's. Has anyone gotten a chance to read it?
Old Ash Creek/The Reef?
After driving by again yesterday, I'm not so sure it is outdoor seating. There is still a wall up, unless they are putting up a sort of false wall prior to putting in glass. I'm so interested to find out what will be going in there! The area needs more outdoor seating that is for sure.
Happy Hour Greenwich?
I'm looking for a place to get together with some co-workers for happy hour in Greenwich or nearby. Drink special or food special would be a plus. Or just a friendly, inviting atmosphere. Any suggestions?
Old Ash Creek/The Reef?
Does anyone know what is going in the old Ash Creek Saloon (Fairfield/Black Rock border). It was the The Reef for a year or so, but has been closed for some time. Living in the area, I have noticed that they painted the brick back to a maroon color. I have always thought that building would be great for a steak house. What's to come?

Stamford Pizza Tour Guys on Colony, Others
I have heard great things about the pizza at Tarry Lodge, and have to get there soon. I heard about a pizza with an egg on it? Anyway, I do prefer Colony but now that I live in the Fairfield area cannot say that there is much here for great pizza. Beverly is pretty good and well Pepe's isn't bad. Has anyone heard anything about Colony opening another restaurant in Fairfield where the old Stationary store was?
Fairfield CT - Great Cheese
The Fairfield Cheese Co. has never failed me! My husband and I prefer the tartuffo. Amazing truffle pecorino. We have also tried some of the spicy sausage, paired the two with a bottle of wine from Harry's and viola...a great happy hour!
Helados Vazquez in Bridgeport, CT for Gelato!!!!!
VERY SAD!! Why did they close? I loved that place as well!
Flipside - Fairfield, CT
I think that Flying Dish tried to do too much. It looked sort of like a chain restaurant inside. They wanted to do all organic and such, but did not stick with one style of cuisine. I believe they also had happy hour and a little bar, but not somewhere I would want to go sit and drink. Anyway, I'm glad that Flipside has a nice sign on the Post Road. Does anyone know anything more about Molto? Wasn't Obika supposed to go in there originally?
Looking for great buffalo chicken wings in CT
If you're looking in the fairfield area, I say go to the Black Rock Sports Cafe. Totally a dive bar, but amazing wings! They do more than just buffalo, and will kick it up a notch if you so desire. We prefer the buffalo garlic wings extra spicy. They also have other flavors that are great such as terri cherry....which is terriaki and cherry pepper. They have daily specials mostly during football season.
First anniversary in NYC
Thank you to everyone for all of your help! It was an amazing first anniversary! We went in early in the day went to Chinatown, to get a banh mi. A delicious start. Then walked around and shopped a bit. Checked in at the hotel and went down to The Russian Vodka Room (recommended by a friend). At first we weren't sure, but after trying a few different kinds of vodka we found some that were more our taste. Since our reservation wasn't until 11:15 we took our time getting ready. Prior to dinner we headed over to Pegu Club. We both loved the cocktails! I had the gin gin mule and my husband had the earl gray teani. Since they were getting busy we quickly paid our tab and headed over to Babbo a little early.
We only waited a few minutes and they seated us upstairs. The music wasn't a problem which I was very happy about. We promptly ordered the tasting menu with the wine pairing. The food was absolutely fantastic! By the time I got to the fourth course, I was already getting full! My personal favorites were the pappardelle with chanterelle and thyme and the pork tenderloin with sweet corn fregula and black truffle vinaigrette. My husband enjoyed the duck tortelli with "sugo finto", however, I realized though this experience that I do not particularly have a taste for duck. The desserts were excellent as well, but we were so stuffed by that point we didn't finish the final plates. Each and every wine went perfectly with each dish, and we're usually not ones for the sweeter varieties. When we go back I'd like to try an actual dish off the regular menu. The traditional tasting menu was great, but I would have to say only perfect for the first visit.
Prior to dinner we had every intention to make it to PDT and/or Death & Co., however, we left so full that we hopped in a cab and headed back to the hotel. We were asleep just after 2! No regrets though! We woke up the next morning, ordered room service then had to head back to CT for a baptism. In two weeks we plan on heading back with another couple for the day/evening to hit up the places we were so set on going.
Thanks again to all of your recommendations! It was truly a wonderful first anniversary!
Flipside - Fairfield, CT
I'm very interested in trying Flipside Burger! I hear that it is scheduled to open at the end of the month. Hopefully it'll be better than Flying Dish!
First anniversary in NYC
Pegu club has some great reviews. We will have to check that out! We're going to make a day of it. Plan on taking the train in the afternoon, doing some shopping, check into our hotel and grab some lunch (banh mi) etc..
Yea, Ganesvoort sounds more like somewhere to go some other time. I dont think I'm really up for the blow outs and lack of clothing just for a good view. Another thing I've always wanted to check out were the 'prohibition' type places, but maybe I'm trying to fit too much in!
First anniversary in NYC
I'm so excited! We're keeping our 11:15 reservation even though it is quite late. I don't want to get too crazy before an excellent meal, but we thought of going to grab a drink somewhere before. One of my friends suggested the rooftop bar at Gansevoort for a martini. I looked it up and didn't find great reviews especially for a Saturday night. Any thoughts?
Plan B for Babbo?
We have an 11:15 reservation as well there this coming Saturday. From your post it doesn't sound as though we'll be that lucky to get something earlier.
First anniversary in NYC
Thanks for all the help! It sounds like it'll be a good time. Should I look into Del Posto instead?
