In Search of Vegetarian Friendly, Ethnic Eats on the Red Line

I'll be staying at a hotel near the Red Line and will not have access to a car. I'm looking for vegetarian friendly, ethnic eats that are accessible from the Red Line. I don't know the area well, so any suggestions that can be reached from Red Line stations would be fantastic.

Girona suggestions other than Can Roca

I'm going to Barcelona for one week in August and plan on doing a day trip to Girona. Does anyone have restaurant suggestions that aren't as expensive as Can Roca? I don't need fancy food, or even mind blowing food, but would appreciate eating somewhere tasty.

While not a requirement, you'll get bonus points if you can point me somewhere that is open on Sundays and Mondays in August. (Double whammy, I know, but it's worth a shot.)

Tips for solo dining in Barcelona, in August

Thanks tjdnewyork and PBSF for the tips. I didn't realize that counter seats could be reserved. Any idea how to ask for that in Spanish?

Tips for solo dining in Barcelona, in August

I'll be in Barcelona for one week in the middle of August and will be traveling by myself. Should I plan on making reservations for dinner each evening? I know that a lot of places will be closed, but unfortunately this is the only time I could go. And is it normal to make reservations for one-person? Any suggestions for good places to dine alone, such as restaurants where you can eat at the bar?

wedding cakes at a good value

You should check out some of the bakeries in Chinatown. Should be super cheap.

Grated beet salad

I like to do a raw beet salad with mustard vinegrette. Or with a little oil and a lot of mint.

Queens: rec's for grill-your-own Korean/Japanese

Can anyone recommend a good grill-your-own-food kind of place in Flushing/Bayside? Something like a Gyu-Kaku equivalent, but preferably Korean.

Reservations for lg grp at Al Di La

Al Di La used to take reservations for groups of 6 or more.

Their phone recording says no reservations.

Do they no longer take reservations for large groups? My mother REALLY wants to go their for her birthday, with her 93 year old in laws, so standing around for a long time won't work for this group. If we get there by 5.30 will we be safe for a group of 5?

Vegetarian Gluten-Free Restaurant Rec in East Village?

A gluten-intolerant vegetarian friend is coming to town and I have to figure out where to feed her. Any suggestions in the East Village?

Nb, we don't have to go to a 100% gluten free restaurant, it just has to be somewhere where the staff understands the concept and has some relevant food on the menu.

Where to Buy Injera

I'd like to find a place that will sell me some injera. I used to live in DC, where it was plentiful, but sadly this is not the case in NY.

There used to be a store up on 116th st, but I went over the weekend and couldn't find it. Do any of the ethiopian restaurants in Manhattan have stores and/or will they sell you injera anyways?

Are there stairs at Chao Thai

I recently got back from Thailand and have been craving real thai food. I've read the comparisons btwn Sri and Chao Thai and it seems that both can be good, but both are inconsistent, so I figured I'd give Chao Thai a try. I want to go with fam, but the grandparents have trouble with steps. Are there any steps to enter the restaurant or steps to get to the bathroom?

Thanks!

chinatown shuttle from sunset park to flushing?

Does anyone know if there is a chinatown shuttle/van between Sunset Park and Flushing? I know that there are vans between Sunset Park and Manhattan, but I don't know about Queens.

I realize that this might seem like a logisical question, rather than a Chow question, but I'm trying to figure out the quickest way to get to some good dim sum in Flushing from Bklyn (yes, I know there is plenty of good food in Sunset Park, but the grandparents live in Flushing).

Thanks in advance!
