Best kosher in South Florida?
So overall did you like it? I have not been there in a long time, when I did go, I was impressed. How were the prices? If I recall the setting was ok, not too fancy. I am confused by the Indian reference, do they have Indian food in addition to the Thai food?
Kosher Heimishe Restaurants
I actually went to Gottliebs in Williamsburg end of last week. They must have redone the men's room as it looked fairly modern, and overall clean. Better than most restaurant restrooms I have been in.
Did Kosher Delight sell Tofu Milkshakes?
A friend and I were debating this. I seem to recall several years back Kosher Delight in Manhattan was selling tofu milkshakes and if I recall, they were pretty good. Is my memory foggy on this or did they really do it, and if they did, why did they stop??
Best kosher in South Florida?
Thai Treat, or whatever its name is now in North Miami Beach is pretty good, and I think you are hard pressed to find another kosher Thai restaurant in USA other than the few in South Florida.

Do you mean that a person can buy the midgies now even without the heckser and they are under ou supervision. (kind of like with Trix, a person could buy them even without the hecksers, or so we were told) as they were under supervision, but the packaging was still old , i.e. pre-OU markings
Herring Salad- Have not seen it in stores in a while
Has anyone been finding chopped herring salads (pre-made) in stores? I use to see Acme brand in the stores here (Central NJ) but have not seen it in months. Any brands people like? I am not in love with the Acme brand., its ok, not great. I prefer one with more chopped eggs. Best chopped herring ever is from when Mrs. Locketch did cateering in the Young Israel of Brookline, MA, that was amazing chopped herring!
Are all Dunkin Donut stores kosher? Or must they have a hechsher?
I is my understanding that the reason the Kosher Dunkin Donuts in New Haven, CT lost its hecksher (this goes back some time) was not from the ingredients in the donuts etc, but that as part of the cooking process they lined the oven, or other cooking surface with lard, or some other cooking agent that was not kosher.
Filet of Fish Sandwich
Do any kosher restaurants (anywhere) offer a Filet of Fish sandwich, with melted cheese, lettuce etc. similar in look to the national fast food chains?

According to the OU consumer line, they have no knowledge of this. The person I spoke to indiciated he was unaware of any application for supervision as of today 9/21. You sure ou is the orginaztion providing approval?

Good Kosher Tarter Sauce
Anyone know any brands of Kosher Tarter Sauce that are pretty good? I have tired the kosher store brands (Shop Rite, etc.) and they are less than tasty. Anyone know of any that they could recommend that are not totally bland and tasteless?
Sweet Kishka?
Anyone know if this place is still around and do they still make their own Kishka. I had great kishka at the now closed Moshavi in Livingston, and have been looking for "unique to a location" i.e. not mass produced, kishka since.
Holy Schnitzel in Staten Island- Real Good!
Just tried the new Holy Schnitzel restaurant on Nome Ave in Staten Island, real good food, and thety make their own homemade onion rings which are awesome.

Dear Koshergourmetmart:
My sister-in-law and brother-in-law are actually going to the Seychelles in the next few weeks. There is no chabad or other formal kosher options. People can bring in up to $200 per person of food in, and can bring a frying pan or other cooking utensils. There is plenty of local fresh fish that they can potentially cook themselves on their brought equipment. Other than that, not much to speak of.

Big Brand names going kosher
Seems like there has been a major slowdown in "big ticket" foods (like Oreos, Mars, etc) going kosher. I heard a rumor that Dorotios was considering making some lines kosher, and Wrigley's new ownership might rethink their status, but are there anything confirmed out there in terms of "blockbuster" items going kosher. How about chain restauarant locations a la Subways and the ill fated Nathan's in Flatbush from a few years back?
Kosher Restaurants Home Made Onion Rings
Does anyone know of Kosher Restaurants in the US that make and serve their own onion rings (as opposed to the kinerit mass produced ones you often see). I am aware of Dougies and Chap a Nosh in the New York City area, that make their own different type of onion rings, are there other places out there with non- mass produced kosher onion rings (dairy or meat restaurants)
