NY Kom Tang or Kum Gang San?
Just a note:
If you guys don't mind Sul Rong Tang, I'd recommend Gahm Mi Oak for its $10.00( well, 9.92 plus tax) for the Sul Rong Tang and the best Kimchi that K-Town has to offer (IMHO).
Sushi in Midtown on the Westside
Second the East recommendation. They have a revolving tray branch on the east side which is also good, but I prefer the one on the west side.
There is a place called Momo Sushi on 56th and 8th but I would avoid that spot as it is Korean run, and is mediocre at best.
Best Recession Deals?
Oddly enough, I had dumplings from there while on Jury duty in early November. Found them to be pretty good.
For me, my favorite Dumpling are at the moment still Dumpling House. Prosperity was also good, but I preferred the stuff at Dumpling house due to the expanded menu.
Best Recession Deals?
Well if people are in LES they could go to Dumpling House, and get fried dumplings and a wonton soup for $2.50 or so.
Take-out in Chelsea
There is Pongsri on 23rd St Between Seventh and Sixth Avenues (closer to Seventh).
Haven't eaten there myself, but it seems to get good reviews here on CH.
Anyone have any thoughts on Song Kran? It used to be Krour Thai I think several years ago.
Lunch with kids near FAO Schwartz or Wollman Rink
To add to MMRuth's suggestion is Gene's Diner, which is located on 60th St between Madison and Park which has slightly cheaper diner food and has a bit more space than Viand.
Not sure if you want to risk it but Burger Joint in the Parker Meridien is also an option if you don't mind the wait.
Angelo's Pizza is also an option - on 57th st between 7th and 6th ave, I think.
