Fun place for young kids?

I am sure. I thought I would get some suggestions for places so that I can look into the possibility.

Fun place for young kids?

Hi all! We are taking our kids (girl 4 & boy 6) to NYC for the first time during Christmas week. We will be spending one night at the SpingHill Suites in Times Square. We usually like restaurants with really good food, but that is not an expectation for this trip....lol.

I am looking for:

1. Places to go for lunch or dinner with really neat theming for the kids (Mars?)

2. Options that could take a party of 25 (family MIGHT be coming in to the city for the day to hang with us)

3. Places for a special treat - candy, ice, cream, etc

We are also trying to decide on an itinerary, but nothing is final yet. Some things that we thought of: Empire State Bldg, Statue of Liberty, Toys R Us, Disney Store, FAO Schwartz, Rock Center.

I know it's not food related, but any other ideas?

Thanks so much!

Really good 'Ethnic' food near theater?

I know, there really isn't a good definition for ethnic food. That's why I put quotes around it! I wasn't sure what word to use to describe my request, but I figured you all would get the gist of what I meant:)

Really good 'Ethnic' food near theater?

Hi all! I am looking for a great place for dinner before an 8pm Saturday show. After going around and around in my head (lol!), I have decided against a super-expensive & fancy meal. My husband and I love 'different' kinds of cuisine that we never get at home. We have lots of Italian, American, Mexican, French, Japanese & Chinese locally. I was thinking maybe Greek, Turkish, Spanish, Indian, etc. We are open to new/different things as well. I would think that we would try for a 5:30 reservation somewhere close enough to the theater district. Any ideas? Thanks sooooooooo much!

Le Bernardin or ?????

Thanks everyone! I think I will ammend my original post after doing some reading & more research. I am now leaning towards finding some really good 'ethnic' food that we can't find at home...Turkish, Greek, Spanish, etc. We have really good Italian, decent French, decent Japanese/Chinese & Mexican locally. Doesn't have to be a romantic looking place, I guess. And I suppose it should be close to the Theater District so that we could eat before the show. Maybe I should make a new post??? Thanks so much!

Le Bernardin or ?????

Hi everyone! I am surprising my husband with a night in NYC (at the Royalton) for his birthday. We will be seeing Rock of Ages at 8pm (on a Sat night). I am looking into making dinner reservations, but am a bit stumped. I read over a ton of reviews on Tripadvisor, but wanted some input here. I was able to get a 5:30 res at LB, but men have to wear a jacket and tie. Normally that would not be a problem, but I don't know that DH will want to wear something like that to Rock of Ages afterward. I would like to go somewhere nice, romantic (not kid-oriented, as this is a night AWAY from our kids...lol). We like all kinds of food except for steakhouse types (well, that would be me, since I don't eat red meat). I wanted to go to Per Se, but reservations are not available. Any other ideas?

Thanks so much!

1st time in Chicago - ideas?

I am going to be in Chicago for 3 nights this week for a conference. Unfortunately, I won't get to see much of the city because I will be in workshops all day. However, we will have a chance to go out in the evening for dinner, drinks, etc. We will be at the Westin O'Hare hotel.

I will be there with 2 other women & I assume that we will go out in the evening together after the workshops (taking a cab from the hotel, I suppose). I think that none of us will want anything very expensive (maybe a couple of mid-range places & something cheap like a pizza place) & we like all types of food except for steakhouse places.

Any ideas? None of us have been to Chicago.

Thanks!

Sunday breakfast/brunch suggestions?

Hi everyone! We are spending Sat night in the city (coming from Doylestown) & will need to go somewhere for breakfast/brunch on Sunday morning. We are staying at the Hyatt in Penns Landing. Is there a good place that is convenient to that location. We will probably go eat somewhere before heading home, so will be driving. Thanks!

Oh, and there are two of us (husband and I).

Philly anniversary dinner?

Thanks everyone! I think we are going to go with Distrito. Some of the others weren't available & that looks like fun & the menu sounds great. We don't have much Mexican around here. Any thoughts on a place to go after? I am not exactly sure where it is located, although I went to Penn for grad school, so I probably SHOULD know...lol. Thanks again!

Philly anniversary dinner?

Thanks everyone! I am going to check into all of these. If there are any more suggestions, please add them.

I also forgot to add that we'd like to go somewhere for drinks afterward, so if you can suggest something with a good bar (wine, beer, whatever...just not a club or college hang out) close by, that would be great. We would want to take a cab to/from the hotel, so not sure if that is a consideration. Thanks!

Philly anniversary dinner?

Hi! We are trying to figure out where to go for our anniversary dinner on Sat night. We are spending one night at the Hyatt in Penns Landing (from Bucks County, but wanted a night away from the kids!). We are planning on taking a cab to a restaurant, so it doesn't have to be very close, but not too far either. We would perfer BYOB, but it isn't essential. We like all kinds of food, but do not prefer steakhouse kinds of places. We have been to Matyson and Alma de Cuba & loved them both. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks!
