Funniest Thing a Server Said to You My husband and I ordered a carafe of Rose', then had t explain what it was. We saw them at the bar pouring white and red into one carafe. Didn't return. |

this is what i do. works every time. i've had mine about 30 years, also. |

i second going to graffiato. i read in a review that reservations needed to be made weeks in advance. i made them about 2 weeks before. we liked it so much, we went again for lunch the next day, no reservations needed at lunch. you HAVE to order the caesar salad. the croutons alone were worth the whole trip to dc! also order the marrow. it was something else. can't wait to go back. |

Bringing your own condiment(s) to a restaurant? That must be a BIG pocket, lol! I, too, bring my assortment! |
|

i have sensitivity to a lot of fish. cod is one i can eat. it is a shame food sellers don't take more responsibility or care. |

I love Brummel & Brown! You're right, though. Nothing takes the place of real butter. |

Have you ever OD'd on a food? And if you did, did you ever recover? I, too, OD"d on Caesar Salad. Sick. Sick. Sick. It was years before I would go near it. My SIL brought a new bottle to my house one day and I tried it to be nice. It was good, but I haven't touched it since. |

What is your favorite home-cooked meal, that you make yourself? (started 3/25/2011) PLEASE share the chicken liver recipe! I tried to find it online, but can't. |
|

What food find still haunts you - that you had once and haven't found since? Chicken Tesh at Josephina's in LoDo. Are they still there? I haven't been back to Colorado in years, but that was amazing! |

I went to JT Hutchinson in the early '70s. Tom & Bingo's RULES!!! You're right about how much money it takes to fill you up, though. lol! But it is worth it. I think Bingo burgers cost about 25 cents waaay back in the day. We go back every chance we get, even from when we lived in CA. The ONLY thing I miss about Lubbock. |

I was visiting my MIL in Texas and everyone was in a huge hurry to leave the house to go to the festivities at another house. My MIL was making a Tunnel of Fudge cake to take along. We were almost out the door when she remembered it! She had left it in the oven about 10-15 minutes too long. OMG! That was the best cake I have ever eaten! I got her recipe and now I "forget" it for an extra 10-15 minutes! I get raves every time. |

new debate: "grits IS good"? no way. it's "grits ARE good." Since no one can eat just one, grits ARE good! lol! |

I'm from Modesto. Our favorite place to visit was Monterrey. I got the printed recipe for Old Fisherman's Grotto Clam Chowder as a gift from my husband. Shortly after he got it, they realized they shouldn't be selling the recipe so they stopped that and started selling the stuff in cans. It is the BEST!!! |

Burgers: Toppings on the Bottom or the Top? I zap my Morningstar burger in the microwave for 1 minute, then broil it for a few minutes each side. This causes it to "cup" a little. The "cup" holds my TOPpings very well! |

Monkey Bread - Do you have a favourite recipe? omg! paula deen's gorilla bread is the best! super easy, too! |
|
|
what to do with philadelphia cream cheese? I have spritzed my egg rolls with cooking spray and baked or broiled from a frozen state. Less fat and truly yummy! Also, I use spring roll wrappers instead of egg roll wrappers because they cook up crispier! |
|
|
Monkey Bread - Do you have a favourite recipe? Try Paula Deen's recipe for Gorilla Bread. You can still make your own dough, but you've GOT to try it her way! I'm not allowed to attend Christmas morning without it! |

Make your own! I just made a recipe from this site last Friday. Pate' is the easiest thing to make and very versatile. You can add or subtract herbs and spices to suit your taste. I always get rave reviews from liver lovers! |
