Liquor in French toast - Does alcohol burn off? I wonder if you could make an orange simple syrup and cook it down to use in the Recipe. Of course, if it was me, I would just use OJ that I cooked down. |

Liquor in French toast - Does alcohol burn off? Almond extract might be a good replacement for Amaretto. Yes, it is alcoholic but so little is used as it is concentrated, I think it would burn off. |

That sounds great...especially when I am hungry for lunch. I love the idea of smoked salmon. |

Thanks for the ideas. It helps to know what I can serve on the side. I was thinking of serving a Kumquat Sparkler as my drink. Sparkling wine, ginger liqueur and kumquats. |

Do you have a recipe for Lobster and Brie quiche? I was thinking of making a Crab Quiche but I know my Mother loves Lobster. |

That sounds interesting. Yes. The peach french toast was delicious and decadent! |

Wow, everyone is making me hungry! Seafood newberg with Crepes sounds good. |

I might save this one for a later time. It looks easy. |

I am coming to S Florida for Christmas and would like to make Brunch for my (meat eating) family. Thoughts? Ideas? |

McDonalds to open vegetarian restaurants... Cool. I had lunch at Dr Andrew Weil's "True Food Kitchen" in San Diego this week. The food was delicious. More healthy choices to come hopefully. |

I haven't been there, but when I asked my "cajun" friends where to go for crawfish, more than one suggested Dodies. There are several locations and I think some are better than others. |

I had forgotten about Sigel's. I used to buy cheese there before I moved away. Ducks and their parts would not be a draw for me. I am a pescatarian....She can keep those for you! |
Great idea. I can check around but it was kind of fun going there! |

I was so happy for the suggestion to go to Scardelli's today. I was there for the "cutting" ceremony. We had a great cheese plate, good wine and came home with fantastic Parmesan. The other cheeses were wonderful too. What a fun day. It's a dangerous place to know about for a cheese lover like me! I plan to go to one of upcoming wine and cheese events too. Thanks for your suggestions everyone! |
Ok. You motivated me. Just printed out the directions to Scardello. I am looking forward to checking it out! |
Both sound great! Thx |
Good suggestion. I normally get it in whole form myself. I have never tried the PR from the Big Box stores. |
I haven't been to Jimmy's but I notice it is mentioned a lot. Will have to check it out. Thx |

The Parmesan cheese I have been finding at Wholefoods and Central Market have been pretty tasteless. I am hoping to find a place to get flavorful Parmesan. I live in Plano. Any suggestions of a good place to buy quality cheese? |

I had some good meals at Best Thai but when I ordered take out it wasn't very good. Banana Leaf is ok but not the top of my list. I have never had a bad meal at Royal Thai and the prices are reasonable. |

I read about Love Shack but didn't realize it was next door. Thanks for your suggestions. Cane Rosso sounds great whether I go with him or I go later!! |
Thanks for the suggestion. Cane Rosso it is! |

I have a friend coming in from Florida next weekend. I thought I would spend a day "touring" Ft Worth and stop at the White Elephant or Woody's Smokehouse. Then I planned one day seeing the sights in Dallas (Friday). Dealy Plaza and not sure what other sights. I could use some suggestions of inexpensive, not too touristy places to have lunch. Somewhere with good food and a cool atmosphere and maybe good drinks. It could be either downtown, Deep Ellum, Highland Park or anywhere North including Frisco as I live in Plano. If there is someplace I shouldn't miss in Ft Worth I would welcome the suggestions there too. |
Thanks. Wish I had known the other day. I was at H Mart and they didn't have them. |
Great. I will check out your posts. thx |
I am in Plano. Thanks for the information. I am learning about some great places, pea shoots or otherwise! |
Pea shoots. Seems like I seem them often in recipes these days. I was at H Mart looking for something about a month ago. It took 4 people to figure out what I was asking! :) I will call Spicers. Thanks. |
Thank you for the suggestion. I have not been to any of these places. (just moved back here) |
Fantastic. I was thinking of checking with them! Thanks. |

I wanted to make a recipe for Mushroom, Goat Cheese Omelet with "Pea Shoots" for Mother's Day. |
