Brunch/Lunch Spot in Sonoma

Stay away from Black Bear. One step above I-Hop.
Swiss Hotel and El Dorado Kitchen (all on the Square) are good. Great soups, sandwhiches and pizzas. Swiss has local,. low key atmoshpere.

Recs for Petaluma/Sonoma area for a Special Dinner

Would easily recommend Girl & the Fig, especially in the spring when outside garden seating is available.

Calistoga Inn is a fun place with good food. Not all that impressed with Bosko. I find the pizza at Checkers better.
Brannans has a new chef who is supposed to be great. Eating there tonight and will find out.
There is also a new place, BarVino. Small plates and wines by taste or glass. Worth dropping by for a quick bite and glass of wine.
Wappo always creative and good.

Best combination of food and view?

Spinnaker has an amazing view and the food is OK. Remember you "pay" for the view. If nothing else, have cocktails and appetizers in the the Bar area. Full moon, clear night, great view of the City and the entire Bay.

Calistoga weekend

Reporting back on Calistoga stay. Schats is under new ownership and just OK. Palisades (one of my very favorite places) is gone. Stomp is closing and their bar Little feet has been replaced with a wine bar called Barvino. Lots of fun with great local wines to taste and "small plate food."
Very hip decor and style for Calistoga.
Breakfast not the best meal to find in town. Cafe Sarafornia was again, OK but better to pick up something at one of the local bakeries and wait for lunch. Cal-Mart has lots of good stuff in their deli area.
Had some decent BBQ at Busters and was very happy with burger and onion rings (great) at Flatiron Grill. Wappo good but not as good as I remembered.
Wonderful salads and Pizza at Checkers and great beer at Calistoga Inn.
Did not eat at Brannans but did have cocktails and dessert. Friday night excellent jazz and the place was packed.
Lots of places have changed but it is still a fun town.

Seattle to Coeur d'Alene

Need a good restaurant with a view somewhere between Seatac and downtown for dinner on a tuesday night.
We are heading to Coeur d'Alene for a couple of days. Any suggestions for places to eat along the way and places in town.
Heard about Hudsons burgers and a great Sushi rec. Anything else we must do or eat.

Dim sum in PDX

Going to Painted Lady in Newberg for dinner. The other 2 nights and several days we are open for suggestions but will be in PDX.
A place called Ripe was suggested.
Anything else we must do. Staying at Heathman....heard they have a good restaurant.
For lunches and breakafasts we are into good cheap eats.
