Sheesh. I have lived in CG for many years now so I have seen the food experience go upward. I am at a loss as to realize the venom in your characterizations. Perchance where is the mecca of food located? Perhaps you should think of moving.

Enoteca on Court St
We called thinking we were calling Marco Polo take out. We ordered two pizzas, a margarita and (even though not on the menu) a marinara pie. They were excellent pies. I will certainly be calling again!

RESTAURANT WEEK 2009: DINE IN BROOKLYN: WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?
Had dinner at Blue Ribbon. All in all a pretty underwhelming experience. My guests had the salmon and the rib dinner, I had the veggie burger. They said their meals were pretty bland. My burger tasted like burnt spinach. People who were NOT having the dine-in brooklyn menu seemed pretty pleased with their choices but I do not know if I would return to this restaurant again.

House of Pizza
I really have to disagree. I think they have tried very hard, and succeeded to keep the pie and calzone the same as before the sale and I am/was a frequent eater there. The pizza was never to die for - it is/was an excellent neighborhood pie and really nice fried calzones.

I haven't been there for many years but it used to be pretty darned good. I don't believe it was a brunch place but then again it was quite a while ago and I went there for a good pastrami and a nice knish:-)

Recipes You've Never Heard of Outside Your Family
I still eat this....make 2-3 slices white toast. Heat one can cambell's condensed tomato soup (do not add water) add 1 slice processed american cheese. Heat to melt cheese and soup and stir. Tear up toast and pour the soup mixture over. Serve with cold milk. My comfort food since I was a child. Everyone else in my family hates this, mother, husband, children, sisters...oh well.
