The case of the horrible no good very bad service at North Fork Oyster Company in Greenport, NY Some of the worst service I've ever had at a restaurant. Inattentive, rude, careless, and sloppy. I am far from a snob about these things, but we had to ask for bread three times, and when it finally came we got three pieces for six people. The food runner had his thumb in one of my dining companion's bisque, and the busser dropped food in her lap. We had the audacity to ask for pepper and a waitress looked at me like I had insulted her. Our waiter hovered near other tables, but never once checked to see if we were happy or enjoying our meals, and acted frantic even though it was nowhere near a busy night. A shame, because the food was pretty good. |

Whole foods chicken breast [Moved from Boston board] Does anyone know if whole foods has changed there chicken supplier or there packaging process? The last 3 times I have bought whole foods chicken breast either from the meat counter or pre-packed there has been a very strange smell and are slimy, enough so that I don't want to eat it. |

I work down the street from Bobalicious in Newton and they have a type of Tofu Deli "Meat" which I have looked for in Super 88, the one in south bay, to no avail. It really tastes like meat in texture and in flavor. Anyone have any idea were I can find something like this? |

|
Still in search of Som-Tum (Green Papaya Salad ) I went to Montien it was ok ,salty and spicy, I can do better at home the crab was a interesting addition. |

Your favorite inexpensive, spicy meals? I second that one. |

Why is Thai food in boston so bad? I find just going to the Indian grocer and picking up a couple of handfuls ,for .25, and freezing them works great. I have grown ,though, Habeneros and they have come out ok. |

Why is Thai food in boston so bad? Like I said until I went to DC (Thai Square) and then in NYC (Sripraphai) I never had good Thai food. |

Why is Thai food in boston so bad? Let me understand this I must: Uh huh that to me is enough proof that thai food in Boston can't ,as you put it, compete. |
|
|
Why is Thai food in boston so bad? Spicy is a step in the right direction but only part of it there is a sweet, sour and just all around freshness to Thai food which doesn't get captured. BTW, do they use lots of birds eye chilies? I mean I can slather sriracha on just about anything and eat it ... except maybe desert |

Why is Thai food in boston so bad? Pho Patuer in chinatown has great Pho and has some items labeled traditional that are pretty good. |

Why is Thai food in boston so bad? I am and possibly I have very bad luck ;) |
|

Why is Thai food in boston so bad? Its systemic to Boston ... we have pretty good all other types of ethnic restaurants but fall flat when it comes to Thai and I am just flummoxed as to why. |

Why is Thai food in boston so bad? Until a couple of years ago I hated Thai Food so much so that I would actively avoid it. |

To be honest I didn't ask b/c I might have started getting angry again ... |

I got a call from the owner of Ten Tables apologizing profusely for what had happened as well as citing the reviews and that they made another mistake by not sending us a $100 gift certificate ... yesterday I did indeed received another $50 gift certificate. In my mind this doesn't justify what they did but I will give them a try now. |

I did indeed receive a gift certificate from TT for $50 ... to be honest they could have done better but then again they could have done a lot worse. I don't think I will ever use this ... |
|
|
So as far as amelioration they offered us a table at 9:30 that night which to us was unacceptable. The night of they offered to give us a gift certificate to TT ,I don't believe they mentioned an amount, my wife was talking to them by that point. And they did call me yesterday to re-confirm my address if and when it shows up I will be happy to relate that info. |

My wife and I just moved to JP and for her birthday we decided that we wanted to try Ten Tables and I made a Saturday 8 pm reservation weeks in advance. At 5 pm on the day of the reservation they call me up telling me that they had "overbooked" after much yelling they admitted that they were really bumping us for a larger group. Needless to say I was pretty steamed ... has anyone else had this happen to them here recently ? |
