Asian Market in Providence?

The two best Asian markets that I know in Providence are Lao Lanexang Market on Smith St. rather close to the intersection with Chalkstone, and Asiana on Warren Ave. in East Providence across from Sun and Moon Korean restaurant.. Lao Lanexang has a great selection of SE Asian products, including produce, frozen meats, and cookware. Asiana is similar but with a focus on Japanese and Korean food. I prefer Lao Lanexang because I am more interested in SE Asian food, but Asiana is a joy to browse through and the staff are very friendly. Good luck shopping.

A Winter Farmers' Market?

I've been to Rosinha's for a get together with colleagues from work. We had a set menu so I did not get a chance to order too many things to try. That said, what we did have was quite good. While the restaurant is owned by Cape Verdeans and features Cape Verdean food, most of what we ate was classic Portuguese food. Excellent appetizers (rissois de camarao, pasteis de bacalhau) and the very tasty steak and shrimp. The bacalhau main course was a bit heavy on the potatoes but was delicious. I was too full to try dessert but what people ordered looked very nice. The atmosphere was the best part of the experience. A very elegant, intimate vibe prevails. The night that I ate there, there was live Portuguese music, but I know that restaurant will be featuring Cape Verdean music as well. All in all, Rosinha would be a great place to check out for a more upscale romantic dinner or a larger group event.

shabu shabu in Rhode Island?

I know this post is a bit old but it also bears mentioning that at both Phonatic on Angell St. and Pho Horn's off of North Main you can get Vietnamese hot pot meals that are similar to shabu shabu (though in my opinion tastier) and definintely cheaper than shabu shabu at places in Boston and NY.

Taco Trucks in New England?

Don Nacho is excellent and I think the best taco option in RI.
