Another great meal at Bocado's in Worcester! Great Deal on their gift cards too!

Just wanted to post that we had a fabulous time at Bocado's in Worcester last night. There were six of us and ordered their tastings menu for 4 and 2. This allowed us to choose 15 tapas as well as two different kinds of paella.

We chose items including duck, veal, shrimp, kobe beef, and goat cheese among many others. All were absolutely fantastic and we had a great time sharing. Our waiter was great and encouraged us to take our time and linger. By the time he delivered our paellas we couldn't eat another bite. We were there enjoying our meal for almost three hours. Great time had by all.

Highly recommend this place!

They are also offering their gift certificates at a discount. You can purchase a $100 gift card for $75. (Can't use it that night though.)

Oceanos or Varka for seafood (Fairlawn and Ramsey)?

Thinking about trying one of these restaurants soon and wondering if anyone would suggest one over the other?

Would love to hear any/all opinions.

Thanks!

Looking for a unique dining experience to celebrate a 70th b'day in Northern NJ (Bergen/Passaic County)

Hi Everyone:

Hoping someone can help me out. I'm looking for a place to take my dad for his 70th b'day. Anywhere in Passaic/Bergen County would be great.

I was thinking of something along the lines of a tastings menu or tapas where you choose a bunch of different plates to share.

Very open to any suggestions. He loves seafood too. Price point is up to $30 a plate.

Are there any unique/special restaurants that you would suggest?

Thanks so much!

Fascino's or Corso 98 in Montclair? Or somwhere else?

Hi Everyone:

Looking to take my parents out for my dad''s 70th birthday this coming weekend. Have heard good things about Fascino's and Corso's in Montclair. Is one better than the other? Any other places you may suggest?

I'm coming for the weekend from MA, so I'm not familiar with any of them. What about Blu?

Thanks for any suggestions!

[Providence] Fun Place to take the family after seeing "Wicked"?

Hi There!

Taking our 3 kids (13, 11 and 8) to see Wicked over Christmas week and would love to follow up the Sat. matinee with a nice fun family dinner that evening.

Can anyone recommend somewhere that would be "fun" for the kids and also taste delicious for us? We are pretty much open to anything.

Thanks!

Need a great appetizer or casserole dish to bring to our block party. Make ahead if possible!

We are having our annual block party this weekend and I have been trying to think of something new and different but easy to make that will feed a crowd. Thinking maybe Jambalaya if I can't come up with anything else.

Any suggestions welcome from appetizers to casseroles to crock pot.

Thanks!

Chioda's Trattoria Worcester? Anyone heard of this place? Been recently?

Hi There!

Wondering if anyone has been to Chioda's Trattoria in Worcester recently? Thinking of trying this for dinner tonight. Seems like they have a large reasonably priced menu, but any reviews I've found are a couple years old.

Anyone been recently or heard anything about this place?

Thanks so much!

Spencer, MA?

If you can drive a little further, I'd recommend the Salem Cross Inn on Route 9 in Brookfield or Rovezzi's Restaurant in Sturbridge on Route 20.

You could also go the opposite direction and head to Worcester on Route 9. Check out www.worcestereats.com.
Hope this helps!

Can you share any good bakeries or pastry shops around the city?

Heading to NYC today for a couple days with the family to play tourist. Since we will be exploring the city, I was wondering if there were any good bakeries/pastry shops you would recommend?

We'll be staying on 3rd Ave (Courtyard Midtown East) and visiting Battery Park, Central Park, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, etc.

Love to hear peoples recommendations!

Thanks so much!

Serendipity 3...worth it for a family for lunch/dinner?

Thank you both! That was kind of what I though about Serendipity. A lot of hype over nothing.

Will be in town for 3 days and need ideas for meals. WIll be staying at the Marriott Courtyard Midtown East (53rd and 3rd). Plan on doing the usual tourist spots and just looking for ideas for lunches and dinners. Pretty casual and reasonably priced (under $25 a person for dinner). Not picky eaters either. Any places you can suggest?

Thank you again.

Serendipity 3...worth it for a family for lunch/dinner?

Will be in NYC next weekend and had this place on a list of mine from a few years ago. Just wondering if anyone has been recently and if it is worth going to? Thinking of lunch or dinner so I can make a reservation and not wait in a long line since we'll have 3 kids with us.

Thanks so much!

CAN YOU HELP? 3 DAY TRIP WITH KIDS...WHERE TO EAT?

Hi THere!

Hoping you can help me find some fun decent places to eat for a 3 day trip next weekend.

We are a family of five. Kids are 12, 11 and 8 and not too picky and well behaved in restaurants. Guess I'm looking for average priced meals.... lunch under $15 a person and dinner up to $25 a person. Don't want really fancy because we will in our "walking" clothes for the most part. Don't mind changing for dinner though.

Our plan is:

Staying at the Marriott Courtyard Midtown East...53rd st. around 3rd ave. Any places to eat around here?

Friday - Museum of Natural History and exploring Central Park area. Need lunch ideas in this area? I think the museum is CPW and 79th Street. Can be casual or we can eat a big lunch and grab a light snack for dinner later.

Saturday - Ellis Island Tour at 10am. So we will probably be looking for a dinner place. Any where in the Midtown Area that you might suggest for a family? Would prefer to make a reservation instead of waiting in long lines.

Sunday - Will be at Times Square. Any places that you would suggest that might take a reservation for brunch or a late lunch?

Open to any and all suggestions!!! Thank you so much!!!

Fun Food Stops from Mass. to Midcoast Maine?

Heading to Maine this weekend and just came across a post mentioning Stonewall Kitchens. Thought it might be fun to stop and check it out on the way.

Wondering if there are any other "fun food" type stops along the way that we should check out?

Wine and Cheese Shops, Specialty Items, that kind of thing.

Thanks so much!

Southbridge/Sturbridge MA?

For pizza I'd recommend Enrico's right on Rt 20 in Sturbridge. Great pizza and they also have a full bar.

We like the Ugly Duckling Loft...upstairs from the Whistling Swan. They have music on the weekends.

If you are willing to drive a bit, I'd recommend heading to Worcester. A couple great places are Bocado's Tapa Restaurant on Winter St. They have a tasting menu that is wonderful....but you will need reservations.

On Shrewsbury St in Worcester, I'd recommend Flying Rhino Cafe, 111 Chophouse, Via Italian Table to name a few.

All of these have websites if you do a search and you can then see prices and menus.

One other suggestion would be the Salem Cross Inn in East Brookfield...or it could be West Brookfield.

Hope this gives you some ideas.

One last one...that I haven't actually been to but people seem to like is the Vienna Restaurant (German ) in Southbridge.
