Yuengling anywhere?
Not nostalgia....I travel for work frequently and had several times on the East Coast. I am going back home tomorrow and probably won't be back. I got a new job that will keep me in Dallas. I may have to put a few in my suitcase :-) !
I was hoping to be able to buy it when I got back. I'm not sure what it is that I like about. I guess its a complex taste without a bitter hoppy taste. Any suggestions for beer?
Yuengling anywhere?
I'm working in Alabama and found Yuengling beer, again. But I will be home this weekend and as far as I can tell it is not sold west of Alabama. Anyone know where I can find it? Maybe Central Market?
GOOD Chinese Buffet (Dallas)
I would've recommended New New Buffet as well.

Lunch near Love Field
Go to Celebration. Food is really good, nice patio if you can stand the heat and mostly farmers market fresh produce. Authentic? Yea, authentic down home cooking. Haven't been to the other places but Celebration is a favorite of ours.
Looking for late night dessert and drinks -- Staying @ Embassy Suites Fort Worth Downtown
We've got tickets to see the Nutcracker this weekend at Bass Hall and are staying at the Embassy Suites in Downtown Fort Worth. We won't have time to eat dinner before the show but afterwards we'd like to find drinks and either dessert or late snack.
Its not too far to walk from Embassy to Bass Hall is it? And any recommendations for after the show (without having to drive)?
Thanks!
Need recommendations for restaurant/bar for upcoming weekend trip
Looking at Google maps I see Blue Mesa Grill is real close. I have not been to this location but I love the one closer to my house. Its sort of local SW flavors. Service is always good at the Addison location. This would be easy to get everyone there and I think they have a bar.
I hate chain restaurants but 5 locations is not much of a chain. If you go I'd recommend the Adobe Pie.

Tuscan House Toms River
I ate here last night. Not bad at all and service was excellent. I had a fruits de mar pasta, clams, mussels, shrimp and calamari over linguine in a spicy marinara. I didn't find it too be too spicy but it was very good. Now was it a 5-star restaurant? Not at all but I don't think that's their target. I would say its a good choice for families because everyone can find something they like.
I would try their pizza. They are very proud of it and their wood fire oven. My meal came with bread which looked like baked pizza crust. It was very good.

Looking for pho in Carrollton/Addison (and Thai too)
My favorite pho place at the corner of Belt Line and Josey closed up or at least changed their name. I really liked it because it was always dependable. I know there's a ton of Vietnamese restaurants in the area, which is your favorite for pho?
And what about Thai? I've been going to Coconut Thai which is pretty good. Any other suggestions in the area?
Thanks
Help me celebrate my 50th in good taste!
For wood fired, traditional pizza would have to go with Cavalli Pizza in Irving.
http://www.cavallipizza.com/
and for brisket I really love Lee's in Haslet but that is a trek and he's closed on Sunday's and only for lunch the other days. I like it because its traditional Texas style but a little sweet, sort a hint of Carolina-style

Ann Arbor -- looking for ethnic food
Going to be working in Ann Arbor the next two weekends and staying Brighton. Looking for ethic food, not too pricey. Well price isn't the issue its just I'll be working long hours and won't have the energy to sit through an hour dinner.
I would like to find Vietnamese, Thai and maybe another Korean. Last time in town I went to Seoul Garden for a late lunch. Food was pretty good but service was slow.
I'd like to find an Italian restaurant as well. I went to Palio downtown but would like find something else.
So what's your favorite ethnic restaurant? Obviously I like Asian but I will try pretty much anywhere....Indian, African, Italian, Irish....

Fellini’s @ Stratosphere
I love Chowhound to find family owned places when I travel for work but I've got a new reason to turn to my fellow CHs. I'm getting married in Las Vegas and looking for dinner for about 45 people after the ceremony. Budget is probably $25 - $30 per person so nothing over the top.
We secured a group rate at the Stratosphere so Fellini’s sound like a perfect place.
Any thoughts on the food and service? Any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance
Where would you take a food personality when visiting Dallas?
This was a pretty cool post. I'd love to hear where you went and what he thought about it.
Buffalo NY - Only visiting for 3 days
I'm only going to be in town for three days and have a pretty tight work schedule but a want a taste of the local food. I hate chains and love authentic mom-n-pop type places.
So where do the Chowhounds take their friends?
I'm staying at hotel just north of Univ of Buffalo North Campus, near 990 & 290. I will be doing some driving so a destination is not out of the question. Also, I'd like to make a drive to Niagara Falls so somewhere along the route would be a double bonus.
Price range...a $50 max for dinner but I would prefer casual restaurants.
Types of food....really anything especially local fare. I'd like to steer away from Mexican and Tex-Mex food since I live in the SW.
Big question....where do I go for wings?? Anything better the Anchor Bar. (I'm shocked when searched for a post and didn't find one.)
These sound good to me...
Mother's
Schwable's
Ulrich's
You help would be appreciated
What's in Allendale?
I am in town for a week and staying in the Allendale neighborhood. Looking for mostly dinner choices. I've eaten at Cover3 several times and generally like the vibe and food but looking for more.
Any suggestions?
Lee's BBQ in Haslet
I worked in the area 2005'ish and haven't had a reason to make a trip out that way until today. Just as I remembered ....slow cooked juicy, don't need no sauce brisket. Also had tender smoked pork loin and sausage slices.
The beans (ranch and baked) both taste from a can but I think the potato salad was homemade. It was mushy with just enough chunks of potatoes to give it texture. The mayo and mustard were at a good balance and I could taste hard boiled eggs.
So its a bit out of the way but definitely worth it. Any one else been there?

Are there any *real* Cajun/Creole restaurants in Dallas?
Like any chain is all about the manager and staff so to say one bad experience is a statement to the entire chain and the owners is irresponsible. I've gone to the Dodies in Carrollton on Josey Ln once and to the newest one in Addison on Belt Line once. Both times the food was outstanding. The locations for me are convenient and will be back.
As far as Nate's we went in once but left before we ordered food. I did not know it was well liked on this board. I wish I would have stayed to try the food. But the interior is dingy and dark...it scared us off. Like I said I had no idea the reviews were so good so I will have to try it again. Just my point of view...
Is this a MONSTER restaurant in Arlington ?
I heard Babe's is opening in Arlington. Anyone know where?

We ate at Doodie's on Belt Line last week. A new location and the food was excellent. IMO
What is a good Mexican Restaurant convenient to the Hyatt Reunion?
I love Sol's Taco Lounge in Deep Ellum. Food is always very good and service is usually quick.
Deep Ellum used to be the happening place in town but now is very quiet. So this place is rarely busy at least when I've gone.

Plano/Richardson Italian Recommendations
Second on Italia Village
Definitely neighborhood restaurant not destination dining. But you asked for a 'nice place'. So I am going to translate that meaning great food but fancy atmosphere not needed.
I've been here many times (5-10) and would go much more often if it were closer. Haven't had a bad meal and several times have had a great meal. Prices are reasonable and whatever the daily special is my recommendation.
The nice part is the owner (and cook) is half Italian and half Greek so if you someone in the party is thinking Greek Salad or Gyro you've got great choices here too.

Best Cakes - Plano
Had an awesome cream cake from Natalie's Bakery for my parent's 50th Anniversary. Website is still up but Google Maps says its closed. Not sure...http://www.natalie-bakery.com
Have you tried Central Market?
BBQ North Dallas - 635 and 75 area
Well just to report back...we did go to TX L& C. Not terrible. In fact decent and the server was attentive. So have a long day of meetings and waiting 'til after 9pm to eat it was good food.
The second day he changed his mind and want seafood. First thought was Pappadeaux's but we were meeting up with some from North Plano so we went Rockfish. Food was fantastic. I really need to go here more often. The snapper special was excellent.
Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I think the girlfriend and I will try a few of them.
BBQ North Dallas - 635 and 75 area
Looking for a mid-priced BBQ restaurant in North Dallas or maybe convenient off 75 for dinner on Tuesday night. All the suggestions I can get would be greatly appreciated.
My boss is coming in town and he made two requests for dinners, steak and BBQ. On Monday we are going to be near NE Mall in Hurst/North Richland Hills and there's a Texas Land and Cattle nearby. So that will take care of steak.
On Tuesday I'd like to find a good BBQ place for dinner. Thinking maybe Spring Creek....
I know chains are cop-outs but I'd rather not risk a 'great-one-night/horrible-the-next' type of place.
If there's a better steak (or even BBQ) restaurant in Richland Hills I'd love to hear suggestions on that.
Thanks

Looking for crunchy maki in Addison/Dallas TX
Couple of decent places in Addison to try. For more the authentic experience try Mr Sushi on Belt Line Rd and for a more contemporary try Chaucers (same road, almost across the street).
Best Pizza in North Dallas?
I used to love Carmines pizza but seems like the quality has gone down quite a bit in the last 3-4 years.
Where's your favorite fried seafood served in the Dallas area.
