Moderatly Priced Organic Meat In GTA

i'm a big fan of black angus meats...although it is in mississauga...

Shiso Tree Cafe - An interesting 'Pasta' find inside J-Town!

went there earlier this week for the first time....loved it.

my girl and i split the wafu salad with smoked salmon and salmon roe, the dressing was killer, we pretty much wiped the bowl clean trying to figure out what was in it, then we split the fries with bolognese sauce (had to try the sauce after reading about it) fries were good but the bolognese was awesome and perfectly seasoned. for the mains my girl had the special which was a spaghetti with scallops in tomato & basil sauce and i had the sukiyaki pasta with sliced ribeye, shimeji, oyster and king oyster mushrooms both were great although we both agreed that my dish was better. we skipped dessert cause we went to ju for a pre-appetizer appetizer but that's another story....

all in all, great spot, can't wait to go back.

Good Mexican Food in Toronto?

i`ve never been so i can`t say for sure but i saw a place called cucina lucero on restaurant makeover and the chef was a mom that used to have a resto in mexico...she looked very competent in the kitchen and lynn crawford was impressed as well.

it`s near yonge and college..anyone been?

Beef Carpaccio - Toronto

i say try a few places and screw around with your own versions...i made a carpaccio two ways last weekend..one side of the plate was thin tenderloin, topped with thinly slice red onion, capers and shaved parm, a lemon wedge on the side and a nice amount of good olive oil, the other side was slightly thicker slices of striploin, with arugula tossed in a dressing of olive oil, dijon, white wine vinegar and a little fresh horshradish topped with shaved parm and more oil. it was pretty damn good.

i'm gonna have to give giancarlo's a shot next time i go out.

heirloom tomatoes??

where's a good place to get them? preferably in the brampton/mississauga/oakville area but gta's good too...

i know there was an heirloom tomato festival - http://www.vickisveggies.com/Events.html - last weekend, are there any other events like this in the near future??
