Also, note that CDM has terrific handmade guacamole. What my family now does is order the guac at CDM, and while it is being made, we walk over to TT and order the rest of the meal. In addition, this allows you to park in the CDM lot, which is a big plus because the TT lot is a disaster.

Trader Joe's is a good call. They carry some Sharfenberger and they also carry a line of single origin chocolate that is excelent (I buy the yellow label). They also carry Droste, which I always fond satisying. Better yet, the prices are very reasonable.

I had a similar experience - very inconsistient food and not that interesting. However, the staff was terrific and the wine choices were interesting and affordable. So, I will definatly give it another try.

I do not know why, but Tom Bergen's comes to mind. It is solid and the bartenders are often good listeners. The comfort food of bars.

I have to say I am not a big fan of Becaon. I think it is highly overrated. Also I think the food at Ford's Filling Station is underwhelming, although the atmosphere is fun.

I recommend La Dijonaise in Culver City. They have terrific almond croissants. They are flaky with just the right amount of paste.

You know, La Serrenata on Pico has a separate room that I have always thought would be nice for a shower. In addition, I have been to an enjoyable shower at Joe's in Venice. Both have very good food.

I am a big fan of Al Gelato . . .the whipcream machine, everything is very consistient. In addition, the food is terrific. Plus, check out the monster apple pie.

I always find good fresh pita at the Elat market on Robertson and Pico. However, the market may not carry wheat pita.

Has anyone eaten here yet? I work nearby and was wondering how the food is and whether the place has a good bar?
