Pasta with Bolognese sauce

I've had it at Undici in Rumson with fresh pasta. It was good.

Great Salads Monmouth & Ocean County?

The spinach and arugula salad at Copper Canyon is ridiculously amazing. Currants, bacon, basil parm dressing. It's the salad course for my last meal on earth.

Sea Bright Fish Co.

Nope. The burger place is next to the ice cream store (I own the ice cream store). Although it is a different burger place now. This is three doors down, where they gym Adrenaline was before Sandy.

Sea Bright Fish Co.

I'm excited as well! I'm two doors down and this will be a great addition to the town. I don't know if they will be selling fresh fish like keyport fishery. But they will be doing fried and broiled seafood, fries, onion rings, etc and will have seating inside.

It was the two who play Mitchell and Cam. About a month or two, probably?

Monmouth county CSA reccs

Google purple dragon co-op. That's the one we did a few years ago. I love the idea of it, but I have a family of 6, and it just didn't work for us. It was fun to try new things, but my kids still wanted their usual produce, so it wasn't worth it in terms of money.

3 new seabright restaurants: Beach Burgers Grill, Billy G's bistro and Even Tide

The tropical bar is actually part of Harry's. They have live music and I think they charge a cover on those nights. There is also another breakfast type place, Alice's Restaurant, that took over where Steve's used to be.

Favorite Defunct Monmouth County Restaurant

Do you mean the Ray's that had picnic tables for seats? In what was pretty much a hut? I have fond memories of that place!

Where does one begin? Bear with me on this......

Sea Bright PIzza is open now! We hope to have Gracie & the Dudes open by late next weekend, and our new neighboring Beach Burgers should be open by then, too. Yumi always has been priced on the high side, imho.

Where does one begin? Bear with me on this......

I gave up on that spot months ago. The second time I went in for takeout, I waited 45 minutes after the time I was quoted. The first time, I waited twenty. I thought it was a fluke. There won't be a third time. As for Yumi, she might be trying to make up for the devastating loss suffered which forced her to be out of business for eight months.

Yumi in Sea Bright is having a soft opening. They are open for delicious sushi but are training a new staff and working the kinks out. Please be kind if visiting and give them a small pass if all is not perfect. The other Sea Bright establishments hope to be open by mid June. Thanks!

Char - Red Bank

I still love Red Bank, too. I went to RBC. I loved 1/2 days when we got to walk around town. Now I love when my kids have 1/2 days so we can go walk around town. And, of course, stop at Mr. Pizza slice. It's a good place for a date with the hubs... drinks at one spot, dinner at another, and then a nice walk to end the eve. We will try Char, not to "be seen" but to get a steak, once the hullaballoo dies down. I look forward to your review.

Costco - Marlboro - Beef Tenderloin

My husband and I also learned how to butcher a beef tenderloin from You Tube. We enjoy filet and are happy to buy a nice piece like yours, which usually gives us three meals (we have 4 small children). Good tip!

Good Subs/Heros near Exit 117/114

Taliercio's is amazingl Huge subs and they are moderately priced. Yum. We used to live on Route 34 in Matawan and were big fans of DeMarco's as well. But that's going back about ten years.

Boardwalk Fresh Burgers and Fries coming to Red Bank

I frequent the JR's in West End. I love Junior's. It can get a little pricey, but they offer deals of the month. They serve two sliders instead of one big burger. I love their grilled chicken sandwiches, the fact that they offer whole wheat rolls, and their salads are so good it's shocking. I wish them much success in their Red Bank location.

We are actually one of the highest points in Sea Bright. We were granted a waiver from FEMA stipulating flood insurance was not a requirement for our particular property. We purchased it anyhow because it was so cheap, due to the fact that it was not necessary, I suppose. When my policy is up for renewal, it's anybody's guess who will insure or what the cost will be. We'll have a bit more information on the tenth, with the new elevation levels.

Obviously, building it right would be an advantage to me, so my family need not suffer this again. We have four small children and we work hard to provide for them. We actually own our building, or should I say own the mortgage on our building, which limits our ability to move on. The subsidies for businesses are almost non-existent. No help from FEMA, the SBA offers loans for between 4-6%, there is an ICC clause for flood proofing or meeting new building requirements in a rebuild but no one is quite sure if that applies to businesses either.

Please remember that there are many of us who depend on our locations in Sea Bright to make a living. What better place to sell ice cream than at the beach? We are working on a vision for a sustainable community but cannot imagine wiping the entire town off the map. A new flood elevation will be released on Dec 10 for the entire NJ coast. We will have to modify or rebuild our properties in order to acquire insurance. We have only been there, as a business, for four years. There are others who have been there for ten, twenty, thirty or more. So, please remember Long Branch, where people were not paid properly for their properties. I cannot imagine the government would write me a check that would equal the value of my both by business and my building. I am in the middle of the "downtown", have never had water in my store before, even with Irene it didn't go over the curb, and I am actually insured by Lloyd's of London.

Just a note ~ our business is two doors down from Sea Bright pizza and Cono is definitely not throwing in the towel. We were together for hours yesterday, at our devastated stores, and he was leading the, 'Stop crying! We rebuild and put it behind us!" cry. Sea Bright pizza is his love and his livelihood, as was our store, Gracie & the Dudes.

Favorites - Three categories - Statewide - Pizza, Burgers & Bagels

Loving this post, MGZ!

Mr. Pizza Slice (Red Bank) and Nunzio's (Long Branch) tie for my favorite pie. A slight edge to Pizza Slice for the bonus of those delicious fries served with a toothpick.

Burger is def Jack's in Long Branch. Best burger, best value, most fun on trivia night!

Bagels, of course, is the Bagel Oven. I feel all other bagels are rolls or huge balls of dough. Crispy outside! Yes!!!

Red Bank: Zebu Out / Mossuto's Market Pizza In!

Never mind I googled it. I don't really count places on the fray of the walking town as "Red Bank." Pacini's, maybe, but not Angelina's or Gianni's.

Recs for lunch with kids on Rt 18 from East Brunswick going south

I have to schlepp up to East Brunswick High school Sunday for a pop warner football game (from Oceanport). Taking 18 all the way up and back. Would like to stop to grab lunch for my tribe (4 kids) on the way back. Any good pizza or kid friendly places? I'm totally unfamiliar with the area, and google wasn't too helpful. Thanks!

Hot Dog tradition in Sea Bright

Completely off topic, but at Bagel Oven this morning they had choc chip bacon cream cheese. I did not partake in it, however.

Actually, the yogurt store in Union Square is not a Let's Yo! but a family-owned place called Sadie's.

Best Italian BYO in the Long Branch/Ocean/Asbury Park area?

Anjelica's in Sea Bright is a nicer BYOB Italian. I know they do many parties. I immediately thought Piccola Italia, too, even though they serve drinks.

Ocean Cafe Shrewsbury, NJ

They are also currently building another Ocean Cafe on Monmouth St, across from Mr. Pizza Slice... maybe the old cheesesteak place? I have to say I still love their food and it has always been consistent.

Red Bank: Zebu Out / Mossuto's Market Pizza In!

Given all of the love Mossuto's has gotten on the board recently, this should be welcome news. I've never been to Zebu, but as a business owner feel bad they are out after only five months at their new location (which, if I remember correctly, took quite awhile to procure?).
