Broad Street Dough Company in Oakhurst

This is just my suggestion, but a better title for your post may be, "Seeking Donuts in Morris or Somerset County." People may read this title and think it's about BSDC. If no one responds, there is always Yelp. Good luck.

Redemption - Asbury Park

It's a tough time to open a Shore business. I just opened one two weeks ago, myself. I have one established business already and business definitely drops off in the second half of August, with kids returning to college, people taking that final trip, and of course getting ready to get back to school. That being said, people want to go where they see people. I wish them luck, and plan to try during my favorite time of year... local summer!

Prohibition in Asbury?

Sure thing. Mine's pretty basic but yummy. I mix Philadelphia cream cheese with a nice sharp cheddar, split the peppers and fill with the mixture. Then I wrap them in bacon and bake them.

Prohibition in Asbury?

We've been twice. We went over the winter and it was pretty good. We had a bunch of apps and drinks and a bit of sushi. It was really crowded that evening and had a nice vibe. Nonetheless, we weren't rushing to go back. We found ourselves in Asbury, kind of last minute, on Saturday. We were with friends and none of us were interested in a long wait. We picked up a spot at Prohibition via Open Table. We needn't have...the place was dead when we walked in. For good reason. The menu is now very small, the sushi has been removed. The waiter steered us away from at least four menu items. My husband wanted jalapeno poppers. I make these from scratch quite often, and my dh wanted to compare. They were rock hard, and awful. We ordered a peel and eat shrimp. They tasted like frozen shrimp that were defrosted in a hurry, and the cocktail sauce was watery with zero kick. Our companions had the avocado stuffed with salmon salad. This was the best out of the apps, but it wasn't great. For dinner, we had a prime rib (this was the only hit of the night), cilantro lime salmon, this was okay but nothing to write home about, "Prohibition" chicken which was served with penne and prosciutto. This was awful. A gelatinous mess. I've seen better dinners come out of a microwave, which this probably did as well. My husband had a zuppa di pesce type of dish. He said it was "Meh." I opened up a clipper magazine this morning and saw they were offering a $20 for $10 type of coupon deal. This is usually the kiss of death. I'd be surprised if they were around much longer.

They were also out of two of the beers on tap, but their cocktails are okay.

Monmouth/Ocean: Regular weekly specials at casual restaurants

Taka in Red Bank does the entire menu half price on Mondays. Nauvoo has a half price burger night on Mondays. And Zachary's does half price pizza (eat in only) on either Sunday, or Monday, I forget which.

Tommy's Tavern + Tap

I did! I went opening night, which is usually a big no-no in my book. They were slammed. They were only serving pizza, wings and sushi. We sat at the bar and were lucky to have Andrea, who seemed to be the least flustered. We had wings, which were very good, and sushi. The sushi was also very good. They only had about half the taps running, as this was a very very soft opening. I look forward to them getting it all together, and will visit them frequently as my own business is on the next block. The space is truly beautiful. They did not have tables out back yet, I think they may still be waiting for town approval on that, but plenty of happy people were out there milling about, playing bocci, etc. I am excited to have them in town and am confident they will be a year round draw.

Another Best Of List Monmouth County

As an owner of a food industry business, I was once told I could be numero uno on my specific industry list for the bargain price of the $500 "sponsorship fee" or some such nonsense. I said, I'm good, thanks.

Brothers' in Red Bank

They had a water pipe freeze and burst over the winter, so they were closed for construction for awhile. I believe the ownership is the same.

Route 66 Hot Dogs,Burgers and Shakes --Long Branch

Actually, I saw a filing in the paper for an LLC called "Route 66 stuffed burgers" at this location, so that might be coming soon.

Prosecco, Port Monmouth, Gone?

Anyone know what happened? Apparently a new place called Crustini is going in.

DQ that serves burgers?

That's a good question. Berkshire Hathaway acquired Dairy Queen around 97-98? We actually owned a few, that's why I know this. But I'm not sure when he made the claim.

DQ that serves burgers?

For what it's worth, Warren Buffett's own Berkshire Hathaway owns Dairy Queen; that may be why he said it.

Good food/ Wedding rehersal dinner venue near Belmar for 30

I would recommend Watermark in Asbury Park. We went to a wedding there recently and it was great.

I've had it at Undici in Rumson with fresh pasta. It was good.

Great Salads Monmouth & Ocean County?

The spinach and arugula salad at Copper Canyon is ridiculously amazing. Currants, bacon, basil parm dressing. It's the salad course for my last meal on earth.

Sea Bright Fish Co.

Nope. The burger place is next to the ice cream store (I own the ice cream store). Although it is a different burger place now. This is three doors down, where they gym Adrenaline was before Sandy.

Sea Bright Fish Co.

I'm excited as well! I'm two doors down and this will be a great addition to the town. I don't know if they will be selling fresh fish like keyport fishery. But they will be doing fried and broiled seafood, fries, onion rings, etc and will have seating inside.

Monmouth county CSA reccs

Google purple dragon co-op. That's the one we did a few years ago. I love the idea of it, but I have a family of 6, and it just didn't work for us. It was fun to try new things, but my kids still wanted their usual produce, so it wasn't worth it in terms of money.

3 new seabright restaurants: Beach Burgers Grill, Billy G's bistro and Even Tide

The tropical bar is actually part of Harry's. They have live music and I think they charge a cover on those nights. There is also another breakfast type place, Alice's Restaurant, that took over where Steve's used to be.

Do you mean the Ray's that had picnic tables for seats? In what was pretty much a hut? I have fond memories of that place!

Where does one begin? Bear with me on this......

Sea Bright PIzza is open now! We hope to have Gracie & the Dudes open by late next weekend, and our new neighboring Beach Burgers should be open by then, too. Yumi always has been priced on the high side, imho.

Where does one begin? Bear with me on this......

I gave up on that spot months ago. The second time I went in for takeout, I waited 45 minutes after the time I was quoted. The first time, I waited twenty. I thought it was a fluke. There won't be a third time. As for Yumi, she might be trying to make up for the devastating loss suffered which forced her to be out of business for eight months.

Hurricane Damage to NJ Restaurants

Yumi in Sea Bright is having a soft opening. They are open for delicious sushi but are training a new staff and working the kinks out. Please be kind if visiting and give them a small pass if all is not perfect. The other Sea Bright establishments hope to be open by mid June. Thanks!

Char - Red Bank

I still love Red Bank, too. I went to RBC. I loved 1/2 days when we got to walk around town. Now I love when my kids have 1/2 days so we can go walk around town. And, of course, stop at Mr. Pizza slice. It's a good place for a date with the hubs... drinks at one spot, dinner at another, and then a nice walk to end the eve. We will try Char, not to "be seen" but to get a steak, once the hullaballoo dies down. I look forward to your review.

Costco - Marlboro - Beef Tenderloin

My husband and I also learned how to butcher a beef tenderloin from You Tube. We enjoy filet and are happy to buy a nice piece like yours, which usually gives us three meals (we have 4 small children). Good tip!

Good Subs/Heros near Exit 117/114

Taliercio's is amazingl Huge subs and they are moderately priced. Yum. We used to live on Route 34 in Matawan and were big fans of DeMarco's as well. But that's going back about ten years.
