What does South Florida have against eating whole fish?

THAI SPICE on Commercial Blvd Ft Lauderdale
serves whole KEY WEST yellowtail snapper and whole red snapper several different ways.
One of the best, legitimate Thai places in tri county area - great service, combined with very fresh seafood!!

Fishless in South Florida

Have you made it to Triar yet? We were just there yesterday to pick up some really beautiful swordfish and grouper to grill this weekend. Great selections, as usual

Cape Cod Recs

2 places that should continue to gather strong recommendations - always been our favorites when visiting the Cape - the Chart Room in Pocasset and The Quarterdeck on Main St in Falmouth. Quarterdeck feels like the "Cheers" of the Cape. As a matter of fact, I believe that Eddie Doyle of the Bull and Finch Pub frequents here/toasting one or two with pal Tommy Leonard (Falmouth Road Race originator). Great local fare with long term, friendly staff

Hyannis - mainly breakfast and dinner

Check out The Chart Room in Pocasset - at the Kingman Marina
A true gem as it enters its 40th something year - truly an institution
watch the boats come in and out of the marina and sip on the best mudslide ever made - they still use Baileys and Kahlua - not knockoffs!
the lobter roll and the baked stuffed 2 pound lobster are a great value and absolutely delicious. Great jazz inside on the weekends. Reservations are a good suggestion, unless you'd like to sit outside on the adirondack chairs and watch the sun set into the bay while your table awaits!

Seafood Market South Florida?

although a bit south, triar seafood, in hollywood, offers head on australian king prawns, head on north florida shrimp, head on royal red shrimp from cape canaveral and fresh rock shrimp. last time we were there we bought abalone on the half shell.
might be worth the drive - call 1st 954-921-1113
they are closed on weekends

I love Fresh Market....but...

many positive comments on posts here regarding Triar Seafood in Hollywood
great, fresh fish, fun folks and lots of fish heads
fresh rock shrimp and key west pink shrimp

Todd English’s Da Campo Ft. Lauderdale, first impressions.

speaking of wine lists, angelo's has just closed his wine store
a sign of the pricey times?

Great stone crab at a great price in Fort Lauderdale?

yes and that would be for 2-3 claws per pound
they make their own sauce and it's delicious
recommend calling first, as they sell out quickly

Great stone crab at a great price in Fort Lauderdale?

triar seafood hollywood
other chow postings recommend these guys highly

pompano beach and area-fish and good stuff

go figure - considering baron's ex-wife is running the joint - just to keep an eye on the money

pompano beach and area-fish and good stuff

he was the chef - but not the owner

Will be at the Fountainbleu!

scarpetta is packed and getting high marks for atmosphere, service and a well thought out menu. our friends were there last weekend and said that the bronzini was the best they've ever had - and they travel/dine in nyc often

pompano beach and area-fish and good stuff

couldn't agree with you more re blue moon fish
very pricey for less than average food - lot of nerve charging $$$$ for just H2O view

pompano beach and area-fish and good stuff

sunfish grill better than ever! they tossed out the idiotic, egotistical chef and are doing a flavorful job. Erika, the owner, couldn't be lovlier and is truly eager to provide her diners with a great experience. We ate there Friday night and everything from the apps through dessert were magnificent. She doubles as the pastry chef and makes everything from scratch. The six of us can't wait to return!

2046 mckinley st hollywood bay #7
very much in industrial area, but not too hard to find - no store front
well worth the trip - wholesale to the public
corner of mckinley and dixie - call on the way - we did that and they gave us great directions into the warehouse - like an old boston fish setting - we walked amongst the fish and picked out all that we wanted - loved it - great people running it, too 954-921-1113

Sunday night seafood in Ft Lauderdale near pier

jeans definitely work - we saw steven tyler and neil young chowing down on stone crabs (great jumbos they have!) - all they wear is jeans and tee's............

Sunday night seafood in Ft Lauderdale near pier

absolutely, 3030 - great seafood and the staff has been there since day one.
Chef Dean Maxx has a wonderful book out - Life by the Sea - available at the restaurant. Celebrity sitings, as well...

Fort Lauderdale is Shutting Down

if you haven't been to Thai Spice on East Commercial, give it a try
always a local favorite for years

Best Thai in south florida?

try Thai Spice on commercial blvd in ft lauderdale - extremely fresh fish in an inviting, comfortable setting. Owners Michael and Lisa are always there, overseeing the front and back of the house. Kitchen staff have apparantly been there for years, providing flavorful, consistent, legitimate Thai cuisine. They're open for lunch and dinner and have recently put beautiful steaks on the menu with a special Thai marinade from family recipe - one of our favorites!

New Chefs (Miami)

word has it that Hakkasan will open Jan '09 - should be well worth the wait...

New Chefs (Miami)

anticipation regarding the upcoming reopening of the Fontainebleau Hotel - from what I hear - 11 Restaurants including NYC's Gotham Grille (Alfred Portale), Scarpetta (NYC's Scott Conant) - this should really raise the bar on the S Fla dining scene

we've found a neat place to buy really FRESH seafood in Hollywood - Triar Seafood
out of the way spot off Dixie Highway - unique hours - I believe m-thurs 7-7, fri til noon. Closed weekends. Great assortment of fish, even fish from Australia!
Very nice folks who are very accomodating. I think that they sell their fish all around the country to the best chefs. Worth checking out.
