The best authentic mexican
Aw man... I tried Pepito's shortly after moving to Mt. Pleasant area, and was totally disappointed. As a Northern Californian, i do think I have a high expectation for Mex grub, much less Tex Mex. Anywhere in the district other than Pepito's that people recommend for good chile verde or carnitas? This thread is pretty discouraging..

Pumpkin Hummus- chickpeas? or not
I made a savory version using both chickpeas and pumpkin that I think is super tasty- it has cinnamon and a dash of ginger, but gets much of its flavor from chipotle chilie powder and cumin.
