In Oak Park around 10 Min from the Civic Arts Plaza is a small restaurant Leila's. They have a full bar a great wine list and serves amazing Tapas or as they call them small appetizers.

Dinner near Agoura Hills?
I would suggest Leila's, right next to Agoura in Oak Park it's fantastic. For Steak I would venture to Thousand Oaks and dine at Mastro's

Speaking of Hot dogs, what's the name of that Sabrett's style dirty water cart in Westlake Village?
The little cart is Smiley's, just west of Westlake BLVD on Townsgate Road. I get the Ferrari dog with marinae onions and chili, but he's got the Sabrett's anyway you like. Don't know if he's there today in the rain, but he's there 5 days a week...enjoy.
One Dinner.. Osteria Mozza, Lucques, Jar.... other ideas?
Based on your question, my wife and I would always pick Osteria Mozza. We think it's fantastic with wonderful food. Have a great meal

My wife and I went last night for our anniversary; we went to get great food and that is exactly what we received, great food. The service not great, waiter did not service us with smiles or overbearing service but he also spaced out our courses perfectly.
Dinner this weekend in Malibu Area
Hi,
Geoffrey's at Sunset is beautiful, still prefer Saddle Peak Lodge like the others. In Westlake, again at sunset, food is fare but great views; Zin Bistro or Boccaccio's

Need Help! Church and State or Pizzeria Mozza
I pick Mozza, love the place. Pizza's fantastic, service has been good everytime we've been there nothing to complain about and I loved the bone marrow with the tosted bread.

That's a great question regarding more information. I ask the same back on our board here in Los Angeles; but I am blank about what exact foods we are looking for. Our children 8 and 6 eat at all sorts of restaurants here so I guess we are looking for some great food but not as expensive as Alinea, L20 or Charlie Trotter's. We are staying at the Peninsula Hotel. What about suggestions for an old time steakhouse? Thanks again, can't wait to visit again.

Spumoni, avoid at all costs
I posted a review back in February basically saying the same thing, very poor flavor!!! We have not and will not return, plenty of great restaurants around.
Quality sushi in the Westlake/Agoura area?
I have to say the sushi bar (Sayka) in the Pavilion's center next to Rustico is very good. Chef does not make a great amount of rolls but the sushi is very good and very fresh, I would go back more often but it is a bit expensive. Good luck and let us know how it is.

Spumoni Restaurant
My wife and I finally had a private dinner without the children. We were strolling around Santa Monica on Montana and saw Spumoni; which my wife heard was ok. It was fairly busy but had a couple of open tables, where my wife and I took a table of 2. Started off with a Caprese salad because they had very small appetizer menu, then off to main courses; my wife had the Farfalle Vodka E Salmone in a pink sauce, she said ok some small chunks of Salmon but not much flavor, which I noticed to be a trend. I had the Linguine Alle Vongole which was suppose to be Linguine in a Clam sauce, the only problem five (5) clams in shells and no other noticeable clams, a very disappointing dish. With all that being said, we will not be return when we get a night away from the children

Dinner at Osteria Mozza
Let be begin by saying Osteria Mozza lived up and exceeded our party of 6 expectations, it was PHENOMENAL.
I will go over what I devoured but everybody loved the whole meal; from antipasti a trip down the mozzarella bar, the pastas to the main dish.
Started with Burrata from Puglia with Leeks and fett'unta, creamy with wonderful flavors all over. And then there was the pasta (best I have ever had) Maltagliati with wild boar ragu, wonderful fresh pasta and incredible tasting boar ragu (next time 2 orders). Last dish the Grilled Quail wrapped in pancetta with sage and honey, my mouth was singing as the joint flavors all came together, another delicious dish. Being I am not a food writer I tried to express my experience best I can, all I can say is I can't wait to return...

looking for great restaurants in the Westlake Village area
Saurday is closing night, it's a shame. A very nice consistent restaurant. As for the OP's original request Les and I differ on occasion. Close by to Westlake is Thousand Oaks and I love Mastro's he likes Grill on the Alley, so I will give you what I think is very good in the Area as I live in and dine in the area often. Leila's, my wife and I eat there a lot and enjoy it very much, we've been dining at Farfalla a bit lately, Tuscany is very good, Cafe 14 in Agoura very good, Boccaccio's has a wonderful view of the lake, sunset is best time to go and good food, Galletto's Bar and Grill same owner as Farfalla, Rustico very good and a new sushi place next door, Sayka very good fish, I don't eat rolls very much so I like fish only and this place is it.
