Eating lunch at Bertucci's... WOW!

I had lunch at Bertucci's, the so called Italian chain today. Horrible mistake on my part. I should have known considering, I have not been to Olive Garden in about three years. It was worse, I ordered Fettuccine Alfredo. It came with two rolls and a simple salad. I drank water with lemon and after tax and tip, I spent $14. for lunch.Thinking that Alfredo was a safe choice because its an Italian restaurant , well let me just say it tasted like the Weight Watchers version in the frozen section. it was a horrible, watery mess. I ate about 5% of my dish, asked for a box, paid my tab, walked out and then dumped my leftovers in the trash can. still hungry and frustrated I ended up spending another $7. on a Potbelly Italian sub and soda. FRUSTRATED!!!!!!!!!! I enjoyed my sub.

Traveling to Santa Margherita & Florence Italy... eating with the locals.

I have seen many topics about eating in Florence. However, after research not really any articles containing local eateries in Santa Margherita. I will be there for three days and would like to know if anyone has any favorites.Good, local and inexpensive ideas would be helpful.

Fall Italy Trip Planning Questions

I know you want to do it right. My husband and I are going to Italy for our anniversary in the fall. We thought about renting a car, but then realized gas was two and a half times as much as the states. Just something to think about. Also, I've recently learned that picking your car up in one location and dropping it off in another , the drop off charge is usually substantial.

Best Chicken Fried Steak?

I am also from Texas. Dallas. I grew up on chicken fried steak. Around here, people think its actually chicken and not beef. I have not found it around here to be very good. I wish you could come to my kitchen, I almost have it down to perfection including the country gravy. Good luck on your quest!

I need help... I need steak... CHEAP!

I live in Leesburg. I love to eat steak. I have searched this board over and over for two words. STEAK. CHEAP. It is Christmas time and with five children I am trying to watch my budget. I still need that thick, bloody piece of beef, though! So anyone who can help me out would be great! I am willing to drive as far as Tysons. Hole-in-the-wall welcomed!

One day in Dallas?

hello, if you are coming to Dallas you have got to try Mexican food, one of the best is Monica's Aca Y Alla. For barbecue Bakers Ribs on Commerce downtown is so good and voted #1 in the city. Check the web site monicas.com they have major special every day, a good suggestion is the cheese enchiladas with avocado sauce and grilled shredded chicken on top, sososo good!

The Italian Store...Amazing!

The Italian store in Arlington Va. has everything you would need to cook an authentic meal at home. Everything is shipped from Italy, even seeds to plant tomatoes or basil. They also have a deli where they serve subs and pizza, it was so good. It is a mom and pop store and they do a great job of keeping it packed on weekends! Anyone been? If not its a great place to try.

Picante! The Real Taco

Picante was absolutely horrible. Overpriced. No spice or flavor. I'm from Texas and in the Dallas , Ft.Worth area is a mecca for excellent Mexican food full of flavor and spicy salsa. I've read posts before that this was a place to try, as far as I'm concerned in my opinion The Rio Grand Cafe is the best Mex I'm sorry Tex Mex around. Not much to choose from around here.

First Post: Best Chile Con Queso in Northern Dallas?

Does "willing to bet" mean you've never eaten there before or are you just not sure about your statement? Papasitos has been voted "Best Mexican" in "D magazine" for like three years in a row.

First Post: Best Chile Con Queso in Northern Dallas?

I am shocked that no one mentioned Papasitos Mexican Cantina you can not be a Texan and not have their queso or their fajitas... the best hands down by far!!!!Oh and if you get the fajitas ask for the pineapple butter to pour over the meat, its not on the menu and I've had waiters tell me they have never heard of it but they have it, I'm telling you it's liquid gold.

5 guys burgers :pro's and cons

Pros for me are generous portions ,inexpensive for what you get....Cons are meat is flavorless ,no juice running down your arms, fries are greasy, and no onion rings!!!!!When I make my hamburgers I use 50%sirloin 50%chuck so flavorful and juicy.

Good food and live music - NoVa

I would like a place that has great live bands and something more than bar food. We have tried several pubs and sports bars who had cover bands 80s 90s music, but when we ordered something to eat, it wasn't edible. The music is loud and I have fun dancing especially to "Jesse's Girl", but I would like to order something good to eat also. Cover bands usually go to places where you can get a pitcher of beer and hot wings or hamburgers, maybe even some fish and chips I would just like the food to actually be hot and edible.

Good food and live music - NoVa

Just moved here and, unless we make a trip to DC, we cannot find any decent restaurants that feature (good) live music. We enjoy rock, cover bands or originals if they are good. Went to Champions in Leesburg http://www.championbilliards.com/inde.... The band was a very good 80's cover band (The Reagan Years) but the food was pathetic.

Thai in Ashburn

Barupa Thai was pretty pricey, lunch around $10. not including drinks. The service was horrible and the food was o.k. Mom and pop joints are my favorite but I would not recommend this place.
