Best Pizza in Toronto.

Hi Edible, I don't have a big preference... both are good. Pasta, I really like the spaghetti bolognese and the veal ravioli. But I'm not a huge pasta fan, and recently we've been getting pizzas to take out. So both are good, really personal preference.

Also, as poster Sherry says, you can order half orders of the pasta dishes, so maybe you can do both :)

Help! My propane tank ran out and I need an exchange or refill on Labour Day.

Ouch! Not sure, but I thought most gas stations were pretty open about what they will exchange? Superior is pretty much a monopoly on propane. I also remember that once time we took a tank to some place South on Parliament or Jarvis, can't remember exactly where :(, but they were able to physically refill it.

Dude, try a quality British banger, you'll never go back!

Sit down yes, though they do take-out as well. They have some salads too, though I've never tried them. Think my wife has some asparagus salad once that was quite good, though not 100% sure. The pizzas are whole grain, thin crust, and just delicious! Give it a try sometime.

Breakfast Sausage

Summerhill Market has them, they're pretty good but not fantastic.

I would recommend Banfi, at Spadina and Lonsdale. They've really raised their game. Best pizza I've ever had.

Good food in Caledon

This one? We went there last weekend, was pretty good.

Cold Stone milkshake flavourless: any decent shakes in downtown Toronto ?

Craft Burger

Dubliner cheese in Toronto area?

I think you can get it at Summerhill Market, and Whole Foods!

Veritas- how has it been lately?

Awful restaurant, do not touch! Mediocre food, dim-witted staff. As soon as I sat down in an empty place, but took 5 minutes to get a server, I knew I was screwed. This Brad Long guy is obviously sailing way out of his depth, no wonder so many Restaurant Makeover places go bust with people of this "calibre" giving advice!

Marks & Spencers Shrimp Prawn Cocktail Snacks?

hi Elaine, Seems bullet at home is more home furnishings? Is that the right website?

Thanks

Is there a Toronto (or surrounding area) specialty?

"Toronto can hold its own against other North American cities with hamburgers and fries, but I highly doubt that we outclass other cities, particularly not on a world scale, with these offerings, not when our laws dictate that burgers not ground freshly and on-site are to be cooked to medium or well-done."

Good Lord!

Le Creuset, All-Clad, Where to get the best deals in Ontario?

Homesense I think is part of winners.... anyway they sell some nice stuff for good prices. Maybe the Bay too when they are having sales? What are you looking to buy?

Where to find kaffir limes in Toronto?

Ah, tought you meant the leaves... isn't there anywhere in Kensington Market you can get them?

Where to get chocolate covered banana popsicles?

Yah, it's awesome! Got through an entire box in one day, solo!

PigRoast - Caterer?

The Ben Wicks does (used to) do a roast pig during the Parliament Street Festival (I was last there about 5 years ago). I would guess they cot someone to do it for them, maybe give them a call? Sounds like a great idea!

good pina coladas, not from bar mix?

Sadly its the Barbados piece of the equation that might be tricky to replicate :(

Loblaws for losers ? well, loses me anyway - off to Sobey's I go !

Yeah, its bad there... not to mention the poor staffing of the checkouts.

Queen and Beaver

Queen and Beaver

A lot of things... I don't really want to trash the place, as I said I really hope they succeed, but problems have been:
1) Cock-a-leekie soup with PRUNES? in it. It would be great of they just used a strong chicken stock. They included good white chicken meat.
2) Bacon sarnie... they failed to trim the rind from the bacon, so it was hard to eat, very, very chewy.
3) My wife had the fish and chips, she reported it was uneven wrt the batter, with a quite heavy distribution at one end.

Overall, we concluded that they still need to get better at what they serve. Don't get me wrong, it's better than the average pub grub, but really they need to raise their game a bit to realise their full potential.

Especially as the area they are in gets a lot of tourists... who might not be up for some quite esoteric English staples.

Queen and Beaver

Gonna have to pull a reverse ferret on this one... I really liked the concept when I first went, was happy to chalk any shortcomings up to being a new place, but I went back for the third time today, and sadly the food is not up to scratch. I really hope they succeed, but today's showing left a lot to be desired. It seems that they are being too ambitious, without the kitchen strength to execute.
