NEW CONSOLIDATED Thread: Best Chicken Wings in GTA

Davwud: I am an avid reader of your posts - thoroughly enjoy them. Just curious as to which King Henry's you frequented as I use to be a regular at the RH location with frequent visits to Aurora and a few trips to the Uxbridge location. Meals at KHA have always been good pub fare in my opinion.

Ottawa- Weekend Dining Options

There is an Irish Pub on Clarence kitty corner to the Empire Grill (perhaps Ottawaoperadiva can help with the name) that serves F&C. Although I did not order it the serving was huge and appeared to be served with fresh hand-cut fries.

Ottawaoperadiva: thanks for the name of the food eatery. And for reminding me about the sausage kitchen - we dropped in and salivated over the sausage, unfortunately we just finished brunch at Chateau Laurier so could only feast with our eyes. But rest assured we will be back to your wonderful city soon to sample all of the fine fare Ottawa has to offer.

Ottawa- Weekend Dining Options

We just returned from Ottawa and also stayed at the Sheraton. You will be within walking distance of the Byward market area, there are a number of restaurants, pubs and bars in the area. My wife and I really enjoyed walking through the stable of small eateries located in a particular building (sorry the name escapes ne right now), inside was an asian place, Indian, fresh made bagels and a pastry shop that also had an array of hot food items.

We also ate at the Empire Grill for lunch one day and had dinner at Wasabi and enjoyed both meals

Have fun

Fine dining in the GVRD

well your loss may be our gain: word is that he will open at the new sheraton hotel in TO.
albeit we are not sure if it will be a high end view or a rumoured bakery and casual dining establishment

Van...what a great city

Over the past several weeks I have had the pleasure of visiting your fair city and have had an opportunity to eat at:
japadog
Go Fish
UVA wine bar
Joe Fortes
Rodney's
Guu

What other culinary delights should I consider on future visits, I stay at Smythe and Seymour and do not have a car available so preferable spots close by

Thanks

Whitby/Durham restaurants that don't suck

not that it matters but was just wondering if it is the Krispey's owner that just changed formats? BTW a new "wine & beer" bar and resto will open just down the street across from the park on the east side, one of the partners of Corrados has some knowledge of the lady that is opening the resto and it does sound promising........could it be that the Brooklin/Whitby area is starting to UP te dining options???

Whitby/Durham restaurants that don't suck

For Mexican you might want to try El Dorado located on the south side of winchester just east of thcikson - part of a small 9 hole golf course. Chef is mexican tends to make everything fresh so can take a while. Not a big seating area and not open Mondays. Give it a try........

Does anybody know about senior's steak?

there are several steakhouses, most downtown, Carmens, Ruth's Chris, Harbour 60 etc, although I would not recommend the latter 2. Why not compromise and do as your BF planned go to Seniors and then after dinner, go to Didiers for drinks, or dessert and coffee or drinks ....... more about who you are with and not really so much about ambience is it?

Gourmet high end restaurant in North East outskirts of GTA

sorry I should have indicated that Chatterpauls is located at the south end of the plaza where Nota Bene is located. I have eaten at Nota Bene on several occassions & my last visit was a disappointment, 2 of 4 had the "wild" boar special which was...well, not good at all. The meat was over-cooked and dry.

Sushi in the PATH

I for one have enjoyed the korean fare at Ho-shi, tikimondo, bibimbap etc. Not from the take out area but inside the restaurant, I have not been since they renovated as the office has relocated but understand that it is pretty nice inside......
